Can someone please tell me how the early check in process works? Is it worth doing or should I just wait until I get to the Animal Kingdom Resort? Thanks

If you are talking about on line check in, it won't hurt so no reason not to. You can put, I think, up to two preferences for your room. They are not guaranteed. Rooms are assigned 2 or 3 days before arrival but if you get to one and don't like it for whatever reason you can ask to be moved, they may or may not be able to do so. Some people get messages before they arrive with the room numbers and can actually just go straight to their rooms, never happened for me. There is normally a special desk at check in for on line check in that should, in theory, take less time since they already have your info. I do it and still go to the front desk just because I like the human interaction and I can't ever remember my pin number for my magic band and have to reset it every time.

I am so glad I'm not the only one!

Thank you for responding. It's having me put a credit card on file, I don't want to charge anything to my room.

They are still going to make you leave cc info. doesn't matter if you check in on line or in person. You don't have to charge anything to your room, I don't think I've ever stayed in any hotel that doesn't require that.

Actually WDW resorts are the only places that don't require a credit card to check in. Obviously, no charging back to your room. But it's definitely not needed to check in.

Learn something every day, I just automatically give it and I don't charge to my room. I don't have it entered on line though, so OP, you don't have to do that.

I always do online check in since our flight usually arrives around 11. We always stop at the front desk to make sure everything is ok and to get a map of the resort so we know where we are going.

If I do online check in, do I have a better chance at getting to check in early? We should be arriving around 2:00pm.
