Early check-in?

Is it possible to request an early check-in at DVC resorts due to medical needs? I don't mean in the am, but around 2:30-3:30pm. Thanks

The resorts system roll to the next day around 6 - 7 am. You can check-in anytime after that. Room ready is after 4 pm. Once your assigned room is ready, you can occupy it even if it's prior to 4.

Assume you mean that you would like to get into the room early. You can check in very early in the morning, but your room may not be ready until after 4 pm.

My advice is to call MS and ask the CM to add the request (to get into the room early) to your reservation. Then repeat it politely at check in. Of course, there are no guarantees, but the resorts do try to accommodate requests as best they can. To make it more likely to be granted, make it your only request (or at most the first of two requests).

And sometimes the after 4PM is way after 4PM, closer to 5 or 6PM. You can add it to your request, but it isn't guaranteed. If you requested a specific villa type for medical needs, you may have to wait for it to be ready.

As others have said, your room may or not be ready. Depends on time of year, how busy the resort is, etc. We are at SSR right now and checked in at 11 am. Room was ready and we were able to move in. Not sure if the online check-in had anything to do with it, but by checking in online I was able to pick the time we planned on arriving. Maybe this helped get the room ready that early, maybe not.

We have added a day prior to our arrival to get early room availability.

You can ask, but remember that it is a request, only. Having said that, years back when our son was 14 and was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis, we were going to cancel our room/vacation due to his sudden illness. A cast member told us to leave it with her and when we arrived at 10 a.m. on the day that our vacation started, we were directed to our room so our son could go and rest after our early morning flight. We also had a cast member phone periodically to inquire about his condition before our travel date.....but NOTHING can be guaranteed.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I meant I would like to request that the room be ready a bit earlier. Our last 2 trips our rooms was not ready until almost 6pm and it caused some difficulty for my DH.

We stayed at OKW last week & , while requested room wasn't ready at 1:30 (did online ck in & happen to arrive right at that time) they did have a room ready in another area. we chose to wait to be near HH. Checked in at BCV yesterday at 1 (did online) & room was ready. Another party right next to me was told not ready. Like others have said it kind of depends but I think online checkin might help.
