I know I have read this information before, but when I search it isn't working. If you arrive earlier than allowed check in time, can you go to your hotel and get tickets for the parks? I am pretty sure I know the answer but want a little reassurance. Thanks

Absolutely. Just head to the resort, leave any bags you have with Bell Services, and checkin. Then you can head off to a park and return later in the day and get into your room.
Depending on how early you arrive, you may actually be surprised and be able to get into your room early.

goofy4tink is right on. Drop your bags with Bell Services, get your tix, and head on out. We have checked in as early as 7:30 a.m. once, and before 10 a.m. on several occassions. Usually the room isn't ready, but on rare occassions, we have been pleasantly surprised.

Yes, check in anyway. If your room isn't ready, they will give you a card to call for your room # when it is ready. That way you don't have to check in twice and can check to make sure you have a room before you trek all the way back to your resort. Bell services is wonderful about holding any luggage or carryons as well.

Yes, you can check in early. More than likely, you room will not be ready and you will have to call back later to get it. We always try to check in early that way if we are not happy with the rooms initially assigned, they have more available rooms that are not yet 'spoken for' that they can shuffle you around to if need be.

We have checked in before 10 am on many occasions and the room has often been ready already. But, as others have said, even if the room is not ready, you can get your tickets and go off to the parks or you can go use the resort amenities, such as the pool.

Adding to the other reassurance you have received. Just another one of those great Disney features.

This is what I just cant wrap my mind around.....if you need to call later on to find out your room number....then how do you know when you check in whether you are going to be happy with your assigned rooms or not?! They dont actually tell you the room number then do they? Thanks.......

Thanks guys! I knew I was right. DH starts grilling me and suddenly I start to second guess myself. We are leaving tomorrow!

Have a wonderful trip!!

pixiedust: Here's some pixie dust so that your room will be ready when you check in.

No, but they tell you pretty much where it is. When we checked in at Pop last year, we were given a map, the CM circled the building and told us first floor on the lake side. Just where we wanted to be!

If you don't ask specifically, they will just tell you the building number. More so you know in what direction you need to head in after the parks. Or where you need to park.

However, they know EXACTLY where your room is. For example, I checked in to Pop Century last month and my only request was for a king bed. I was told at check in that the request was met, I was in Building Two on the first floor and to park in a certain lot.

This are just my thoughts but I can imagine someone getting to Disney World at 8:00 AM and being told that they are in room 2103 (mine at Pop Century) but it's not available yet. The room key doesn't work but the person goes over to that room and sees my husband and me packing up and taking our time to "check out" as we don't have to leave until 11:00. We are driving home so no pressure on us. But there is someone outside really wanting the room. Maybe even banging on the door to get us out earlier.

So we do leave and now housekeeping needs to do the cleaning. That somebody could hunt her down and get her back to that room to clean it right then and there.

Extreme example but it could happen. And one I don't wish would.

Okay - so they will be able to tell me whether we have connecting rooms, first floor when we check in but just wont tell me the exact room numbers right? Thats fine.......thats great..... That way I wont feel I need to be there all day until it is ready just to make sure we are at least connecting......
