Early Check-in Question for the DLH

We were originally going leave EARLY morning on the 16th and drive down, staying at the DLJ, but after some consideration, DH wants to leave the afternoon the day before, so we all get a good night's sleep (and who I am to argue with more time at DL?!). It is too much money to stay that extra night at the DLH - we are staying in the 3 bedroom suite with family - so we are going to stay off site that first night.

My understanding is that we can check out of our hotel early that morning, check in at the DLH & leave our luggage with bell services. Is there anytime that is too early for that? I realize we are unlikely to get our room until later in the afternoon. Also, as guests of the DLH, can we access magic morning that day (it's a Thurs)?

TIA.

As long as it is after midnight that morning I don't think it is an issue. They will be able to issue you the white pass to use when getting into the park so that should be fine. You probably will not get your room yet, but that really is not a big deal. I have even seen people eating room service in the lobby early in the morning before.

I know people who've checked in as early as 6am. And yes you'll get MM access that morning if you check in early enough. I suggest packing a duffle for whatever you'll need that first night. You may be able to drop off the rest if your luggage at the DLH when you arrive the night before. I'm not sure what the policy is, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Ever since they introduced the "key to the magic" card (I think it's "magic"...I know it's not "world" like at WDW, but it's "key to the" something!) they don't do the white pass thing. It's on the card now. :)

OP, we once got up at 5 to leave the Hilton (pricelined for $50 (plus parking fee of course)), got to PPH by 6, checked in, left our bags with bell services, and were there nicely in time for a 7am Magic Morning! (extra bonus = we were chosen as "Big Kahuna Family of the Day" and were upgraded from the most basic, non-view, room to a two room suite)

Thank you so much! Sounds like our plan will work then - especially with a 10 am park opening/9am MM!
