early check-in needed for cbr bldg request?

is there a better chance at receiving your building request at CBR the earlier you check in? We arrived by car about 2 years ago checking in @ 10-11 am and received our request. I also faxed and called in request. This year we are arriving by plane at a later time and don' t know if we should stay in another hotel the first night and check in early the following day in order to have a better chance of our request being granted.

My feeling is you do have a better chance of getting your requests when checking in earlier rather than later. Even if they don't have the location available when you check in, you can tell them you'd be happy to wait until later in the day to get into your room so that you can have the location you prefer.

If you do check in later and not get the location you prefer, you could always go back early the next day and request to move to your preferred area.

It depends on how busy the resort is. They try to grant your requests and usually do a very good job.

I would have the request noted in your reservation and then when you check in ask the CM if it was granted. They are very good at trying to give you what you want.

Starting this year, you have to pay extra to be in a preferred building - which I think is Trinidad North and Martinique 24-26.

I wouldn't go as far as to stay somewhere else the first night. They usually preassign rooms by the requests so your chance may not be hurt by arriving late.
