The way things are set up now at any of the 3 DLR hotels is that you can show up early to check in - we even showed up at 6:30 a.m. once - and get all the paperwork out of the way, and they will give you your room key (called the Key to the Magic) right then and there, with your name on it, and it can be attached to your credit card so you can charge purchases/food in the parks onto the Key as well. Then you can either leave your bags with the Bell Desk or in your vehicle (if you have one on site), go enjoy the park or wherever and you NEVER have to go back to the front desk for any reason again. Later in the day, you call the phone number they give you when you first arrive and get your room number when it is ready. You never have to go back and wait in any long lines at the front desk, nor do you have to wait in any lines to check-out. Since the Key has your name on it, it is yours to keep as a souvenir, and any additional charges to your room that are incurred during your stay will be charged to the credit or debit card you give them during the early check-in. They slip your final bill under your door or attach it to the door handle on the morning of check out. And if it is during a slow period, they may offer you a big discount to stay an extra night! They really have the whole process streamlined now. In the old days, you had to wait in long lines at check-in to get your room number info AND you had to wait in lines to check-out, but they have eliminated all of that.
