Early check-in at GC...?

This will probably be moved to the main Disneyland forum (from the Trip Reports forum) but I'll give my answer now. :)

You can check in whenever you like. Your room might not be ready, and just like most hotels you can leave your bags with them and they will keep them secure for you while you go do whatever you'd like to do. If you get there early enough on a Magic Morning day, you could even go to Magic Morning (assuming you were planning on visiting the parks that day of course and had enough days of admission)! Then when you get back you get your cardkey and retrieve your bags and you'd have your room. :goodvibes

We called about an hour before we arrived and told them we were coming in early. They said they had it noted on our reservation. They had everything done and our room was ready when we showed up around 10:50 in the am!!! That was awesome!

If you will be coming in early, let them know and they will try to accomodate you as best as they can.:)

You can check in whenever you like. They will process your check in even if your room is not ready. Then they will give you the keys to your room, but they won't tell you the room number. On the key packet they will show you a phone number to call. You can call that number and when the room is ready they will tell you your room number. So you never have to go back to the front desk! You just go directly to your room! It is really rather clever!

The GCH does run very full most of the time, so it is hard to get into a room early, but this is a nice compromise. And as someone else mentioned, you will get your hotel ID when you check in, so you could go to a magical mornings.

Yep, you can check in as early as you arrive. We checked in back in October, probably around 12:30pm. They actually had both of our rooms ready even. But that's just not something to expect. Odds are you can check in, and leave your bags with them.

Now even a few weeks ago we were able to check in at the DLH at 8 am! And they even had our room ready for us. Which was a complete shock. LOL We had a 8:30 am breakfast scheduled at PP, so we figured we'd just check in and have them hold our bags (we stayed there on our last night, after 5 nights at Hojo's). But it was really nice to have our room all set for us, and made it so we could go straight to the parks for the day after breakfast.

That's wonderful to hear, Jen! My flight arrives at John Wayne at 10:00 AM on 10/19, and even though I know we can just drop our bags off at the front desk at DLH and head for the park, it sure would be nice to be able to hit the room and change into my tennies before heading out. Otherwise, I'd have to wear them on the plane, and were it not for those darn security checks where you have to remove your shoes, I wouldn't mind. Yeah, I'm lazy and cheap. ::yes::
