Is it worth the extra $10 to do the early bird check in an get an earlier seat assignment or just wait? My flight leaves Friday morning...

It's really a personal decision. At this point I'd say "no". Anyone who's going to purchase eBCI already has and will be automatically checked in in the next couple hours. Assuming you have a cheap fare (not a business or full class fare), you'd be behind all those people, so no real difference than checking in at the 24 hour mark.

If you won't be around a computer at the 24 hour mark, that might make it worth it.

I wouldn't unless you are traveling with someone you must sit next to.

I only use EBCI if I won't be able to check myself in at the 24hr mark. So far I've had no issues when checking myself in with getting seats together. I've had the very last A's, at best, and I've had the end of the B's, at worst.

We travel as a group of 3 or 4. When we are 4 my DH is happy to sit alone....usually just across the aisle.

i have never had an issue on southwest with boarding. my answer is no, save your $10.

Not at this point since it is so late. Just make sure you are at your computer at exactly 24 hours. Even 5 minutes late makes a difference.

They're already past that point. The flight leaves tomorrow moring

So sorry about the error! Just trying to be helpful. Maybe my response will help someone else. Seems kind of silly that you had to respond to correct my error.
