Are studios typically available in early August if booked less than 60 days out? Dates would be flexible and it would likely be for 5 nights. I'm thinking SSR would be the only option...

Studios are the first to book generally, maybe SSR.

Less than 60 days is hard. Because Disney shoot for 98% occupancy for the DVC units, remaining units get released to CRO inside of 60 days. You might be able to string together w night or two at a time, but not much else, even SSR.

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks :)

There's a chance I'll need to cancel a reservation and my points will be in holding. Use year is September, so they need to be used by then regardless.

My only experience with booking studios in August rather last minute (had to cancel Aulani & DL 8 days out and re-book at WDW) was that there no studios available anywhere so we had to go with a 1-bedroom at SSR (only 1 available anywhere but that was OK - we like SSR & it's our home resort). We are booked for an early June trip (so currently 3 months out) at the Poly and I just looked the other day to see if there was anything available to add on a day to the beginning of the trip - the only availability was at SSR & OKW unless we waitlist at the Poly. I made no decisions yet on it tho since we'd have to borrow points to do anything else. I'd say pickings would be pretty slim by 60 days...

Four years ago needed to change a trip for a relative to first week of Aug just a day before 60 days out. Like mentioned above, there were no studios open, and in 1BR could get only SSR.

There's a whole bunch about "within 60 days" here: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.g...ions/HomeResortRulesandRegulations_012012.pdf

Of note: "The "Breakage Period" is the period sixty (60) days before a given Use Day. During this period, Club Members may contact Member Services to reserve Vacation Homes, subject to availability. Some or all of this inventory may be made available for rental reservations if it is anticipated that the Vacation Homes will not be utilized by Club Members." It's in section 9.

Section 11 is kind of fun, too. I wonder if they whip out section 11 sometime on BWV/BCV during Food & Wine...
