I was waiting for free dining, but so much for that. Should I keep waiting to see if I get a code or if a room only discount comes out? We are going for two weeks and am a little concerned that we may have a hard time getting what we want if I keep waiting. What do you all think?? Also is getting an AP worth the room discount? Should I look into that??

That's a tough one. I'm in the same boat and I've decided to wait and see if AP will come out with some summer discounted rates. I do have an AP, got it last year specifically for the room discount. I went last August for 11 days/10 nights, the AP saved me $130/per night at the Beach club X 10 nights ($1300). I think it was about $150 bucks more than a 10 day park hopper pass, so my total savings was ~1,000. I also purchased a DDE card for 65.00 that gave me 20% off of my food bill including alcohol (which Dh &I do drink). You should crunch the numbers for yourself

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us.

We booked already and have been. Any additional discounts would be icing on the cake. The only reason I booked was to get the AAA discount. We first had the Wilderness Lodge woods view, but then changed to POR since our party grew and two rooms were needed. I wanted CSR for a change, but it wasn't available, but last week it did become available.

If I was paying rack rate and was flexible in the resort I wanted I would wait. If you want a specfic resort and the discount would be nice but not a deal breaker I would book now.

Between myself and my DIL we cancelled 7 rooms at Pop Century for mid-August. Hopefully if folks keep cancelling rooms and changing their trips to September, that will create a void that needs to be filled which means a reason to offer some discounts. So I have my fingers crossed for those hanging in there. DIL changed her trip to September and I rebooked using points at OKW.

I agree this is a toughy. My family and I are planning on going in October (first time ever at that time), yet I am hoping to squeeze in a shorter trip in July (just dh & I) prior. He is an AP holder and we are considering that if we go in July I may get one too.

I want to book both the trips, but dh keeps thinking we should wait to see what gets released, but I want to do SOMETHING NOW just to know I am going to DW without any question!

With that said, if you plan on going for 2 weeks and are pretty much decided on where you want to stay and are going to go and stay there no matter what, I'd say book it. If/when the AP comes out or if another discount is released you could more than likely get it applied to your reservation.

Do you belong to AAA? I know they offer discounts too and maybe something worthwhile. Something would be better than nothing as every little bit helps. :)

Oh and yes, if you are going to go for 2 weeks and there is an AP discount at the resort of your choice, it would definitely help. We usually go 8 nights a year and we've got a good deal on the room the last 2 years.

Hope this helps!

Hi there...

What is a DDE Card....can anyone purchase these???...as it sounds quite interesting...

I booked already (last November) any discounts that come out can be applied to your package. I was able to get in on the 40% code and had no problem applying it to our reservations. I would say to book now, what could it hurt, it's only 4 months :hourglass away and you'd hate to lose your room that you want right?!

A DDE card is a Disney Dining Experience Card - I think they are only available to AP holders or Florida residents. They give a percentage off of meals at many of the restaurants. If you go to All Ears.net it gives a pretty good explanation.

Can I book a package with a 1 day ticket, upgrade to ap when I get there, and still book in advance to get the room discount? Are there any links to historical room discounts so I can see just how much I could save. I need to do some math to see if its worth it. Thanks
