I'm assuming the check in time for the resorts are similar to most other hotels, which is 3 pm. We're staying at AoA. If we end up flying, will our luggage just be held by the resort until our room is ready? Have many of you had good luck getting into your room much earlier than check in time?

Check in time is 3 PM, but you can check into your hotel anytime after roughly 6 AM. It is highly unlikely that you r room will be ready early. 3 PM checkin applies to the time rooms should become available. But once you have checked in You can store your luggage, head to a park, or enjoy the amenities of the resort, including swimming in the pool. Pack a carry on with what you will need for the day and enjoy

You can check in as early as 6am. Your room will not likely be ready, but bell services will store your bags and you are welcome to use the resort's facilities or go off to a park for the day. Depending on occupancy, you may get your room before 3pm. If you complete the on-line check in in advance, you may be able to skip the front desk and they'll text you your room number when it's available.

Many people have gotten their rooms early at WDW. I have only had 1 trip where my room was not ready when I checked in. Most of the time I arrive at the resorts between 9 am - 1 pm.

If you have your luggage delivered from the airport to your resort, then your luggage should deliver to your room within 4 hours of checking in at your resort. If you take your luggage with you from the airport and your room is not ready, then you can take it to bell service to have them hold.

You can check in as early as 6:00 am, which is when their computers switch over to the current day. They'll hold your luggage for you if the room is ready, but I've always had good luck getting into a room before official check-in time. In 10 trips, I arrived before 3:00 9 times, and as far as I can recall I only had to wait once, and this was back when they still had smoking rooms, which I remember because I could've gotten a smoking room immediately, but chose to wait for a non-smoking one.

You can leave your luggage with bell services until your room is ready. If you want to get your room much earlier than your check-in time, I would do online check in if you can. That way you can check the box that says that you'd rather have your room ready earlier than your request. I did that last trip and got a text around 8:30AM EST about our room being ready when our flight wasn't scheduled to land until 9:00AM EST

We received a text while driving down to FL last month that our room was ready. It was only 8:51 a.m. Last summer when we arrived at our resort around 9:30 a.m., our room was ready. We have never had to wait until 3:00. Hopefully we will be this lucky when we go down next month.

Has anyone had groceries delivered before check in on their day of arrival? Our flight arrives at 11:30am, and Im not expecting to get into our room, Id love to have a few things delivered so that we can settle in later that night after a few hrs in the parks.

Yes, we've done this. Bell services will store your groceries and will refrigerate the perishable items until you arrive.

If you use the online checkin, you do have a spot to put in when you expect to arrive and if your room choice is more important than the time ready. So far my room has always been ready when I get there.

We have an early morning flight so we should be at the resort before 10am. If our rooms are not ready, is there a way we can leave our carry on luggage to be stored at the hotel while we go to the parks?

I see it's called Bell Services at the deluxe resorts, Luggage Assistance at the values, what's it called at the moderate resorts? We're staying at the CBR. :)

We got to CBR very early last week. 10 a.m. They had a room available already. We were super surprised. I really thought my husband was nuts for even trying, but it worked. We were at EPCOT by 1:00.

You never know. . . .

If you arrive early and do magical express (and let them handle your luggage), does the luggage just magically arrive at you room later on?:flower:

I had a terrible experience arriving early. I arrived around 8 am, checked in and was told my room wasn't ready yet, which was fine because I showed up ready to head to the parks. I had a day at the parks and went back to POR just after 3...room wasn't ready. I had a 7:00 pm dinner reservation at V&A. At 6 pm my room STILL wasn't ready. Long story short, they finally had my room ready at 8ish (which wasn't in a preferred room I paid for), and I had to cancel my dinner reservation because my luggage wasn't delivered until after 10 (and I couldn't go in my flip-flops and shorts). I know this isn't the norm over there, but next time I'll be sure to pack all of the clothes and items for the whole day in my carry-on.
