Early arrival at port

Our PAT is 10:30 tomorrow in Miami and our hotel shuttle will only drop us off at 9:15. Is there a place for us to wait? Or anything to do? We are just trying to figure out what’s best.

I'd consider alternate transportation options. E.g., perhaps Uber or Lyft? At least at Port Canaveral, you couldn't get in anywhere unless you got tested first. Over a 1 hour wait outside would be difficult in the Florida heat.

At PC they were being somewhat strict on PAT. We arrived 30 minutes early and were OK, but we also had a PAT of 1:30 p.m. The car rental shuttle even warned us that it would potentially be an issue and asked that we just sit in their lobby and wait. However, the driver, said he thought it would be OK for us. My guess is that it was due to the lateness in the day. If you're there early, I'm not sure they would let you in early to be tested.

A few years ago we arrived early in Miami and had to wait outside with a lot of people- Miami terminal was a nightmare I would not arrive early.

I wouldn't consider it any big deal to wait outside for an hour. It's probably easier than finding an alternative. We had to wait outside the Miami port for awhile prior to our first Magic cruise, and it was fine. A little boring but what are you going to do? Bring something to read or look at to pass the time. Download a game app onto your phones, preferably one that you can play offline. Don't play it until you get to the port, so there is something novel for you to do there.

Over a 1 hour wait outside would be difficult in the Florida heat.

"Miami heat" is not an issue from 9:15 - 10:30am in late December. The weather will probably be lovely.

You're on your cruise, but would be curious to hear more details about your experience. What did security say to you when they told them your PAT? How long did you have to wait? Where were you waiting? etc.

I am curious how this went as well. We have a driver taking us to port and it looks like we may arrive about an hour early. I was wondering what there would be to do? Is there anywhere to sit?

No one said anything to us. We just waited next to the boarding area until our PAT. The longer we waited the more people appeared to wait with us not does not matter where you are in line they come through and ask for 10:30 PAt then 10:45 PAT etc.
