I have two adr's at 8:00 a.m. One is at Crystal Palace and the other at Hollywood & Vine. My question is would I more then likely get out in time to be one of the first for a ride? I have heard on different forums that the parks are usually opening earlier then their stated hours. The parks will open, tentatively, at 9:00 A.M., on both days. Also, with both restaurants being buffets, me and the family would probably be there for 40-45 min. Thanks in advance.

PLEASE CANCEL one if on the same morning so that another family can experience a preopening ADR.
Holding two coveted ADRs for the same time, only one of which you can use, is inconsiderate and selfish.

I eat at the Crystal Palace a lot, and I am almost always seated later than my ADR time. I don't think there is any way you would be out before the park is opened for guests.

If you really want to eat there, try for a later ADR time. Around 10 am. You can hit the parks at open and then go have a nice breakfast later on.

The Crystal Palace ADR gives you NO advantage as it is inside the hub where everyone else is waiting to get into the park. Even if you leave the restaurant before 9:00, you'll just be in the crowds waiting.

The H&V could be an advantage, depending on what you want to ride. If you're hoping for a ride in Toy Story Land, that will not happen as they will already have let people into TSL before you finish eating. If you're wanting to go to Rock n Roller or Tower of Terror, then you'll at least have a short wait even if you're not one of the first on the ride.

I don't think either reservation will get you get you into a position to be among the first for a ride?:confused3

You will likely be held at the same rope drop areas with regular crowds? Or even finishing after regular crowds are let into the rest of the park?

Your Crystal palace PPO ADR gives you no ride benefit at all. If you want a ride benefit you need an ADR for BOG.

Also, if you plan on seeing all the characters at these character meals, the 40-45 minutes that you are figuring is pretty low. You should plan on breakfast (or any character meal really) to take 60-90 minutes to see all the characters and eat.

OP never said they were for the same day. Rude to assume, or to dictate how others use the reservations they get. And even if they WERE on the same day, if they drop one, another family gets some amazing pixie dust closer to their trip.

And honestly you don't even need it for that anymore, unless you are needing a very specific time.
True but when you have younger ones worried to death that they wont get a time you find yourself eating at some pretty bad places.

I’m sure if they are on the same day and only one can be used, the OP will cancel one rather than be charged for a no-show. I don’t think it’s inconsiderate or selfish to book 2 reservations and then make your choice. This is the way the ADR system is used by thousands of people. Disney could easily prevent guests from making reservations at the same time (like they do with fast passes) but they don’t. Please don’t criticize someone for using the ADR system in an accepted and popular way.

We booked BOG @ 8:10am in February and pre-ordered. After we ate we were in the line waiting for 7DMT and waited maybe 5 minutes, then went on POOH and then walked over to Peter Pan. It was one of our favorite mornings in the park. Another favorite of ours is the Garden Grill early breakfast at Epcot for the morning ride of Soarin or Test Track.

If the only reason you are eating at those places is to get an "advantage" then I wouldn't bother.
Crystal Palace will give you zero advantage at MK and you'd be at H&V too long because they normally start walking people back to TSL before park opening (and depending on your dates if its after SWGE opens HS hours will likely be extended drastically).

Buffets are really hard to get through in such a short amount of time if you actually want to see all the characters, it'll be closer to 90 minutes. I haven't heard any advantage to those restaurants getting you on rides quicker. Be Our Guest can help getting on Seven Dwarfs and Garden Grill at Epcot is great for getting on Soarin in the morning. If you main objective is getting on rides first I would change those reservations to 10am to do rides then eat breakfast.

With the exception of the first person to "buzz" in on my question, THANK YOU ALL for your advice! The last time I made such an early reservation at the park(s) was a decade ago, when the parks opened at, or near, their scheduled time. It was then a "plus" to book the reservation, eat, then ride anything you wanted too for 5-15 min. Me and the family mostly ate and ran, with seeing the occasional character. Now, with everything I've seen on blogs, videos, chat rooms, and the like, Garden Grill and BOG seems like the only restaurants left to secure a top-of-the-line ride. ( And that's only guaranteed if the restaurant is on time and you don't mind missing a few characters, if it's a character breakfast.) I did want to make sure though, thus the question proposed on this board. I had GG at 8:00 a.m.; unfortunately I had to switch my Epcot and Universal days, so I lost that time slot. The best I can do now is 8:30 a.m., which is not going to work for getting in line at a descent time for my favorite ride, Soarin'.

If it's still a PPO ressie, GG will still seat you in the order you arrive at the restaurant. So be one of the first to get there. Eat and pay early. That should allow you to be among the first to ride Soarin.

Yes, do this!!!

Wow, of all the luck. I just landed a 8:05 a.m. time for GG an hour ago. I will get there at 8:00 sharp, as suggested, and I should be good to go for being one of the first at Soarin'. I did the rope drop for this park twice last year and they were between 8:57-9:00 both times. That should give me 45-50 min to eat, which is fine with me. Unless Epcot changes their hours that morning, I will get to ride Soarin back to back. ( I have a fast pass at 9:00 a.m.) (I also have a real addiction to the ride.:worship:)

Has anybody did GG early then gone onto Soarin' before the park opens? If so what time will the Disney staff start loading the ride? It would be even nicer to ride it multiple times before having to use my fast pass.

To the poster Hopefully; you'll be happy to know that I relinquished my Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine ADR'S at 8:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY. Although I'm not giving up my early ADR's, for Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
