I'm looking at the calendar on my phone and it's showing on the 21&22 that each park has Extra Magic Hour and DL has the Magic Morning on both days.

Is this correct? I thought only one park has an early open and they alternate days, except on Sunday/Monday when DL has both days for early admissions

Also... Should we expect a bigger crowd at DCA with the extra Magic hour, or it will won't be ask bad as DL with extra magic hour and the magic morning?

Trying to plan which day will be best to spend at which park.

We want to end with DL on Monday but if I can make a compelling reason to so DL on Sunday it might fly

On both of your days, DCA has early entry and DL does not. DL has early entry on tuesday, thursday, and saturday, and DCA has early entry on monday, wednesday, friday, and sunday. So since you are going on a sunday and monday, DL won't have early entry at all. Are you staying at one of the three onsite hotels? If so, you get access to early entry at a select park everyday (see schedule above), so you can enter DCA early monday and tuesday.

On the other hand, you don't get any type of early entry at all if staying offsite. You only get one if you buy a three day or more day ticket, and they are only valid at DL.

I think your strategy of hitting DL on a monday works well. Just make sure you arrive 50 minutes early ( or even earlier if you really want to be at the front, as it is super busy at DL when you are going, albeit not as busy as the period between Christmas and New years eve). Monday's are less busy than weekends, and DL has more stuff to do than california advenure, so you will need that slight lack of crowds (but it will still be crowded!). As for DCA, visit it on a Sunday and take advantage of extra magic hours if you stay onsite. There really is not any difference in crowds in DCA if you are participating in extra magic hours. If you stay offsite, still go, but avoid carsland in the early morning, as it will be already be packed with onsite early entry guests before you cross the gates! Fortunately, the other areas, including those open to EMH guests, are not affected. If you have park-hoppers, you have much more flexibility for such a short trip. If one park feels crowded, just hop to the other one! So easy!

I hope that you have and amazing Christmas trip!

From Dec 20 through the new year CA has EE every day and DL has EE/MM every day. Totally screwed up my strategy for my upcoming trip as we are staying off site. I had asked this very question a few weeks ago when the dual EE were published and folks said go to the park you are most interested in as early as possible and lower your expectations overall. I have zero expectations for getting to do anything in fantasyland the whole trip.

If we ever do Xmas time again I will see about staying on site for 1/2 as long a trip instead of doing off site.

We are planning DL at rope drop most days as most of the CA rides we like have fast passes.

Good luck!

Wait, what? Oops... I just assumed the early entry schedule was the same as usual! Sorry about that! I guess since each park has EE each day, just go with the flow, still arrive early, and avoid the areas open for early entry in DL at park opening (and carsland at DCA). You can still have a equal rope drop for the other areas of the park. If you are staying onsite, do California adventure on Sunday and disneyland on Monday with EMH. If not, still do that ( because mondays are less busy) but just expect to get less rides done if you do not have that EMH.

Yes, for a couple of weeks they are doing early entry at both parks every morning. I am not sure from your post if you are staying on site and using early entry or not.

I can say that DCA early entry is better than DL in terms of crowds as DCA has almost all rides open and the crowds are spread out over the entire park. DL only has Fantasyland and Tomorrowland open and it gets very crowded very quickly.

Let us know what your plans are and if you are onsite or not. We can give better advice that way. Good luck!

We will do DCA on Sunday and DL for sure.

We will not be able to do any EE or MM, as we are staying off site and only going for 2 days( this might change thought might stretch to 3days depending on if we get to LA fast on Saturday(driving from NorCal).

What rides should we do @ normal opening on Sunday @ DCA?

I assume, Frozen land(whatever this might entail) CarsLand but what else?

What rides @ normal opening on Monday@DL? I assume Anna/Elsa M&G (but is this moving to DCA? Peter Pan... And what else is a must to get out before the day begins?
