earliest train to JFK airport arrives one hour before fight....help!!

I did not realize that the first train (thought they ran all night) wont get me to the airport until about 1 hour prior to my flight.

Is this simply cutting it too close??

you should be at airport 2hrs before flight. You need to check in minum 45min - 1hr before flight leaves.

You need to maybe look for a night train (stay in onsite hotel) or take a taxi.

Don't know how far you are from JFK.

You could try for a later flight but this will also cost you.

yea, i knew it was; dont even know why I asked. *sigh*

I guess we may have to park at the airport this time and spend an extra $120or take a cab for $60 and maybe take the train home.

I am so mad at myself if i would have realized I would not have booked the earliest flight

The JFK AirTrain runs 24/7. LIRR has night trains, most lines. They may only run ever 2-4 hours. You may have hours to kill at the airport.

We just parked at AirPark at JFK, an offsite parking lot. It was 111.00 for the week. It was very easy because their shuttle vans bring you right to the terminal. We usually park in JFK's lot and have to use the airtrain. It is a hassle with the kids and the bags. I did price avistar and they were 50 more.

I was taking the LIRR and air train.

My flight leaves at 6:30 am.

The train before the one that gets me there about an hour before the flight gets me there 4 hours before the flight. This would not be too big of an issue if it were a later flight but getting to the airport at 2 in the morning just seems like alot.

I thought the LIRR ran every hour even at night

It depends on what branch you take. The Ronkonkma branch has a train almost every hour. The Montauk one is much further apart. So I had to take the 12:40 train from Speonk for a 6pm flight. But sometimes I checked in so quickly I had time to get back on the airtrain and go into Manhatten for a few hours.
