What is the earliest time to enter a park that doesn't have magic morning? Can you book fastpasses using maxpass before the same park officially opens? I know you can for the park that has magic morning, but I have never tried for the opposite park. Sorry if this has been addressed before, but it is easier to make a new post than to find one.

You can book MP just as soon as you have swiped your ticket at the turnstile. If they let you past the turnstiles to wait for rope drop, you should be able to do it then.

Not sure about the opposite park.

You can absolutely use MP the moment you scan your ticket (at least at DL). A friend does it every Sunday and I’m right behind him. The time that they scan your ticket seems to vary greatly, though. Sometimes it’s as early as 7:30, other times as late as 8:00 (presuming you’re at the front of the line and an 8:00 opening time). I think it simply depends on if they’re “ready” or not. What causes earlier/later gate opening is a mystery to me.

You can book FPs via MP for either park, regardless of opening time, once you’ve scanned into any park. The FP return time will be no earlier than the opening time for the park for which the FP was booked. No FP return times will fall during MM or EMH time.

In our experience DCA tends to open about 30 minutes prior to opening and DL about 20 minutes. As WonkaKid said there is no guarantee, but that seems to be the norm.

If a magic morning is at 8am (Disneyland), will they start letting people in earlier and have a rope drop at the hub?

Always prepare for a a early gate opening onto a rope drop....as veteran Wonka Kid stated, who is a rope drop visitor....it is a mystery, but best to wait the 40 mins to feel the Disney energy , but recently someone stated that they only waited 20 mins outside of the gate when they arrived at 40 after the hour onto a rope drop. I always arrive at 20 after the hour.

Both parks generally open 30 minutes early. On our last trip, we did 4 days DL and 1 day DCA, with one MM. On regular opening days for DL, the gates opened about 7:30 except for one day when it opened at 7:45 because that’s when they were ready. On MM day, the countdown started at 7:00. On DCA day, gates opened about 7:30. It’s always best to get there an hour or more early just in case.

I think I worded my question wrong. I will be able to enter the park for the 8 am Magic morning. I just wondered if there is a chance they will let people in earlier and have a rope drop for the Magic Morning guests?

When we used MM, they had a normal countdown at the front gates like they normally do and then once we were let in we were allowed to go into Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.
