Earliest Check in

I was wondering what is the earliest that you can check in to a resort. We don't expect to have a room ready but want to check in at the earliest possible time.

I think 7am is the earliest you can check in.

We were staying at the Polynesian for the week-end and then switched to the CR - I took one of the first monorails over in the morning and checked in at CR at around 7:15 am and had no problems (room wasn't ready but it didn't matter to me that day).

I was also able (on another trip) to check in at POFQ at 8am (and my room was ready and we were able to get in right away).

Good luck!

Always go to the front desk upon arrival. I've run into a number of people at Disney that will not try to check in until the "official" time. I've arrived as early as 7:00 am and had no problem checking in. Many times, the room is ready well before 3 pm.

Thanks for the info. Last year we have a room only reservation before our package started and I checked in early for our package portion so that we could get our park tickets. Luckily we got to keep the same room.
This year we are in a different situation. We have our package booked. But when dh got the flights it was cheaper for us to fly in the night before but we don't arrive until midnight. We don't want to book two rooms at AKL for the few hours that we will be in it. We have a couple of options we are considering. We have 2 adults and 5 kids. My family lives in Orlando so we could stay with them for the night but that is kind of an inconvienence for them. We could book an airport hotel and take magic express in the morning. Or we could book two values for the night. I was joking with dh and said we could just hang out at the airport until morning. Then he said that is not a bad idea. Well I think it is a horrible idea with 5 kids. If we were 21 and by ourselves that would be doable but not with 5 kids. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hmm, I would hate to book a room just for a few hours, but the kiddos will probably need their sleep. How bad would it be to hang at your family's house until about 6am?

We always do a room the day before our package starts, sometimes on property and other not, this way we're not starting our package late on our travel day.

I would book the airport hotel, sleep in and eat breakfast, get up and take ME to your resort. Then you can check in and head to a park fully rested. I'd pack one small overnight bag as a carryon with clothes for everyone.

Have fun!

I would be so angry at my husband for booking a lower priced airfare and getting us in at midnight!

I would go with the airport room. I wouldnt want 7 of us going to my familys at midnight. Being at the airport, would save a bit of $$ and like you said, you can get the ME bright and early.

If the kids are tired and cranky..let your husband deal with them!!
