I was thinking of heading DTD for our first night (flight gets in at 4:39) and hitting Disney Quest. Reviews of Earl of Sandwich sound great and we love good sandwiches. I had planned on using a CS meal for the first night but EOS looks to be so inexpensive that we might be better off paying OOP and saving that credit.
Is a meal there simply sandwich and drink or does it include chips?

Thoughts?

When we were there in June we ate at Earl on our way our of town. I was surprised that it did NOT include chips. Sandwich, drink, and 1 cookie/brownie for dessert. Very good chicken sandwich!!

I had read such good reviews about Earl that we had to try it. We were really disappointed. The sandwiches weren't very big and were on weird bread. The roast beef in my sandwich didn't taste anything remotely like roast beef. But the price was right; you certainly get what you pay for!

I love Earl of sanwich. You place the sandwich order then as you move down to pay you can grab chips, drinks, or cookies. I am not sure if there are combos.

The wife and I are picky eaters and we loved Earl of Sandwich, the bread, not sure what kind it was, it was different, but great, she loves the cannonballs.
we will go there again.

i was so excited to try EoS after reading about it on these boards last year, and then of course got super sick right before leaving for our vacation. i was still getting over my cold when we ate at EoS so my ham sandwich tasted like peanut butter to me :upsidedow but i am still planning to give it another try next time!

We used the Dining Plan in Dec. at Earl of Sandwich. All of us really enjoyed our sandwiches but were surprised no chips came with it.
Sandwich, drink, dessert.
The bread for the sandwich is a sort of rounded rectangle shape. To me, it was different, but VERY good!
The price is a bit on the cheaper side, so, depending on where else you plan to go, yes it may not be the wisest use of the Plan, but even so, it is still a great meal..just think it was a bit chintzy that there was no side like other "meals"

Have a GREAT time!

One thing to know about Earl is that they give a AAA discount. They don't advertise it but if you present your card they knock off either 5 or 10% off the bill. Every little bit helps!

I hadn't heard about the AAA discount until today and I go there regularly. Is it just with your card, or with a special card that was mentioned (like something you get if you buy a AAA package?)

Earl of Sandwhich is in my top 3 counter service restaurants now. The sandwiches aren't huge, but they are very filling. I love the Cannonballs, and one sandwich is too much for me. When I went with my MIL recently, we split a cannonballs - I also had a side salad and a water. She had a salad, chips and drink - and we were both full when we left.

Often I just get a smoothie, usually with a side salad. I usually am not driving home right after I eat, and don't want to waste a half of a sandwich. :)

Oh...and I'd pay out of pocket for Earl, unless I had excess counter service credits available. The food isn't expensive, and the desserts are nothing fancy.

I must admit. I'm addicted to the Earl Of Sandwich. I eat there at least 3 to 4 times a week. Someone mentioned that the sandwiches aren't very big. I think they are very big. I guess it is all a matter of perspective. The Earl's Cobb salad is my favorite!

When we ate there awhile back I asked if they had any kind of annual passholder discount. We were used to Disneyland where many of the DTD eateries have AP discounts so we asked at Earl (this was our first visit to WDW as passholders). They told us no, but said they do offer a AAA discount if you have a valid card, which I did.
