The last couple of weeks I've had a weird thing happening- When I drive, my ears have a weird pressure, almost like how it feels when I'm on a plane that's landing. I can't get them to pop, and for some reason I can't figure out, it makes it hard to breathe.

The first time it happened a couple of weeks ago, it was *really* bad, but I figured it was just an asthma attack, so I renewed my perscription for my inhaler (which I hadn't used in about 5 years), and figured that was it. But it happened again really bad last night when I was coming home from work- it's so scary to not be able to breathe!

I'm headed back to the doctor today to try to figure it out, but I was wondering if anyone here has had anything similar? I just can't figure out what's wrong with me!

I've had this on certain points on I-70 and on the PA Turnpike when driving through some mountains, but I've never had it in a flat area. I hope that the doctor can help you.

Yes, this does happen to me. I can't open only one window a crack either because it throws the equlilibrium of the air in the car off and my ears end up hurting.

I had a very bad ear infection a few years ago after scuba diving and my ears haven't been the same since. I am kind of used to it, but maybe you have fluid in your ears that you can get an antibiotic for?

Hope it feels better soon -!

This happens to me if the sunroof is only 1/2 open or if 1 window is open.

I had heard that it could be the allignment of the tires.

Another vote for the windows. I have to have two windows open to equalize the pressure in the car or my ears really hurt.

If a back seat window is open it hurts my ears. I have constant ringing in my ears.
