Ear Plugs or equivalent for infants

Hi, all. This February we are taking our newest daughter to Disney World for our first vacation as an expanded family. She will be 6 months at the time. We also took our eldest daughter to Disney at 6 months. While we had a great time with our eldest at that age, there was one issue we had -- our daughter was scared of the loud noises on some of the rides and of the fireworks. Accordingly, we avoided most rides and the fireworks show. On this trip, however, since our eldest will be 2 and want to see the fireworks and go on more rides, I'm trying to figure out a way that we can take the baby to the shows and rides as well. I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of any type of ear plus or other devices that would help dampen the sounds for the baby.

There are earmuffs/headphones that you can get.

DS was under 2 months old for his first fireworks and festival (July 4th), and I found that having him snugly against me in the hotsling covered his one ear, then I just put a blanket or my jacket or something between the outside sling side and his other ear, and even put my hand up against his ear if I felt it was too loud. Worked well, he slept through the fireworks and the end of the festival, along with getting home on the bus.

Willing to try cotton balls? It's an oldie, but a goodie!

Also keep something for distraction... a lighted toy or something.

While I would agree with the recomendation of ear muffs rather than ear plugs, ear plugs are available for infants. My daughter was fitted with a hearing aid at the age of 3 Months, and required a custom made ear mold for the hearing aid.

Thanks! Maybe I'll just try the sling/sweatshirt idea. My baby hates hates, so upon further reflection, trying ear muffs or something similar probably wouldn't work.
