My 2 1/2 yr old loved the fireworks tonight, but hated the noise. Its never bothered her before but it does seem she's been a little bothered by loud noises lately and the fireworks confirmed it. Better to find out now then when we're at Disney World in December. Does anyone have a recommendation for ear plugs for an almost 3 yr old or any other recommendations for noise reduction? Thanks

I recomend EarPlanes. They are not made for noise reduction, but they are great at lowering the vibrations in your ears. I could never stand the regular yellow ear plugs because they leave that air gap in your ear. EarPlane have holes so you don't have that problem.

My 10 yr. old has always hated loud noise. I have found her earplugs at places like Lowes and Menards by the safety equipment (goggles and such) that are attached to a headband. It's a lot easier to find in the backpack than digging for a couple little earplugs, and you don't have to worry about one falling on the ground and searching for it in the dark. I'm not sure if this is the same kind, but same idea anyway.

We used cotton balls when she was really little. Now she used pink and purple ear plugs from Lowes.

We use the Mack silicone earplugs also. There are so many in the pack that I took one single one, separated it (ds's little ears were too small for a whole one), and then put them into the holder for a pair of contact lenses (you know the little case that has the screw off top and is about 2-3 inches long). The screw on lid keeps them from drying out and I can drop them in the pouch of the stroller and be sure I don't forget them, since they are always with the stroller when we travel.

Now that ds is getting older (he'll be 5 in a couple of weeks) he seems much better about the noise. But I can tell you, he was terrified the first couple of times. Made us leave the park and only enjoyed the fireworks from the parking lot at MK (where he could see the explosions but barely hear the noise). Now, we can get front and center seating for Illuminations or the MK fireworks as long as I put the plugs in just before.

We took cheap ear plugs from Wal Mart with us last year and what a difference they made! Our son actually sat thru the whole show with out clinging to me for dear life. Mom got to actually watch the fireworks too!

I am going to "upgrade" to those from Lowe's as well. It was hard to find the small individual ones in the back pack in the dark.
