Our daughters had a problem 2 years ago even when they used the ear planes. In December they used the ear planes and a vickes inhaler. During take off the pressure was real bad even for us adults. Our one daughter took out her inhaler and used it once on each side. After a minute she had a big smile and had no problems the rest of the flight. The other daughter did the same. My husband even tried the extra inhaler we brought just to see if it would work for him. His smile told me it worked for him as well. He was not using the ear planes. When we came back home we each had our own inhalers and each used them only once before take off. They worked wonderful. So take both just in case one doesn't work for your child. It is terrible watching your child in pain from ear pressure. We had tried all the other suggestions and none worked as good as the inhaler. We won't leave home with out them. Good Luck.
