Ear Infection

So I woke up yesterday and had a slight pain in my ear. Then lastnight the pain started to get worse. I am up this morning, and "OUCH"! I have never really had any problems before with my ear's. I guess I will call the Dr. as see if they can call an Rx for me. It is Sunday so I am hoping the Dr. can be reached or who ever is on call.

How are ear infections treated? Also how long can this last?

Ear infections can be painful. They are treated with antibiotics. I hope you feel better soon!

Ear infections are the worst. You will be treated with antibiotics. Be sure to take them for the full dosage. Your will feel better in 24 - 48 hours usually but continue the antibiotic until you finish it. This is if it in middle ear. If it is the ear canal they may also prescribe drops to use as well as antibiotics.

the quicker you get on antibotics the quicker you feel better,I'm guessing you could use motrin or tylenol for the pain in the mean while.

I had more ear infections than I can count when I was little, and that's pain I'll never forget. You should feel better within a couple days of starting the antibiotics. Feel better soon!!!!
