How do you know when you have an ear infection and when it's just pressure from your sinuses causing pain. Does anyone have any remedies to stop the discomfort because I feel like my ear is full of water.

I'm not sure. When I'm in doubt about something medical, I go to, www.webmd.com it usually helps me. It's a great resource.

Hope it helps! :)

Hmm .. usually when I have an ear infection, it only hurts in the vicinity of my ear. With sinus pressure, I usually have pain in several areas (both ears, across forehead, under eyes, etc). I think ear infections are more painful as well (at least mine are), and my ear has more of a tendancy to ring.

If it was just sinus pain, I would suggest Advil and a non-antihistamine decongestant (like Sudafed), plus a steamy shower or a hot washcloth. If it's an infection, you should go to a doctor.

Hope you feel better soon. :)

Thanks all....I'll definitely use all of your advice

I'm recovering from a double ear infection. I had both ears plugged and what felt like water in my ears. I'd go to the Dr asap because my ears finally totally unplugged today and I've been on antibiotics for a week now.
