Ear Hats, Headbands, or Nothing?

We went on our first trip to WDW last Fall. Dh wasn't sure about a lot of the cutesy stuff like character meet & greets and the like although he really warmed to the characters. With that in mind I figured a couple sets of matching Disney shirts was all the luck I should press. On the way home, on the flight, he turns to me and says "so, we're going to get ears next time, right?"

I wear Minnie ears sometimes - they give me a headache after a while as they’re a bit tight but I do love them and they’re great for photos.

:earsgirl: I've got a sequined Minnie ears headband with a sparkly red bow in the middle - I rock those ears! DS's favorite was his original Jack Sparrow Mickey ears hat from his first trip. DH has always just gone with a Disney ball cap, and he gets a new one every trip.

My bf wants us to get hats but I have a big head and I don't want to be disappointed when they don't fit. I was thinking ear headbands. He's kind of feeling like if it's not a hat it's not worth it. I'm sure we'll find a good compromise. But I was wondering what other people thought? Do you prefer ears? The classic Mickey hat? Or nothing at all?
(remember "the rule")

I wear a wide brimmed sun hat (I burn very easily), so any type of ears/headband isn't going to work for me.

I don't ever wear hats, headbands, etc. Even in freezing cold weather. I have curly hair and it gets smooshed in a hat.

Why do you need to wear something on your head?

Let him get what he wants and you what you want, either... or..... will be cute in the pictures.

I wear a visor, dh wears a hat (he has some missing hair up there).

My kids wear nothing, a hat or ears.

Edited to add, our hats/visors have the Velcro so they size to your head or can Velcro to the strap of the bag.

I like the headbands but they hurt my head. I wear them for awhile and then take them off.

Hubby loves Disney but doesn't partake in Disney headgear.

I prefer the look of headbands. That said, I haven't had the best experience with them. The ones you can get in the parks feel so tight on my head that I cannot keep them on more than a couple of hours. For my birthday this year, my husband bought me a gorgeous set of custom ears from Etsy. At first, they seemed really comfortable, but then I realized they were actually a little too loose - if i looked down at my feet they would slide down my face. I finally took them off an placed them in my bag, but then they ended up breaking. :(

Baseball hat every day. Keeps the sun off my face and scalp. Wish Disney carried better structured ball caps and not the flat brimmed style the kids wear. Hard to find nice ones.
