Hi everyone,

I tried looking for an answer but haven't found anything so sorry if it's been asked before.

So, DH and I have been talking about souvenirs that we are definitely buying (and budgeting for unexpected ones).

One thing we are looking at is an ear hat for our son. We planned on buying one pretty much as soon as we arrive so he could wear it the whole trip but as far as I can remember not all of the different types of hats are sold in one place. And there are definitely more than the classic one now.

Does anyone know where we could find pics of all the varieties of hats they sell (even adult non-ear ones)?

I would hate for us to buy him (or us) a hat in one area of the park and then find one we like better in another area and not be able/willing to buy another hat.

I can think of 2 or 3 places that will have most of the hats available. 1) the shop on main street next to Mr. Lincoln. 2) the mad hatter in Fantasyland 3) Startrader in tomorrowland. I believe all of those locations can also personalize your ears for you. Some of the other places that sell hats do not have the machines or only have a small selection of hats that "match" the theme of the area they are sold in.

There is also a little shop in Critter Country that had a lot of different styles. It was basically all hats. It was located by the Splash Mountain FP machines. They did embroider names there. They also had birthday buttons!

This is the reason DS has never really gotten an ear hat. Because there are SO MANY fun ones to choose from. :) He has a pirate one, but the chin strap bugs him so he doesn't wear it, and the chin strap problem causes us to not be willing to buy him more, because we know he wouldn't wear it for long.

Also he generally wears a baseball cap for sun protection, so the ear hats don't help with that. (when he was more of a toddler/little child he wore the ball caps with ears, which was the best of both worlds)

So really, you've nailed one of the problems we have perfectly. :) Too many to choose from!

www.disneystore.com has a Disney Parks section with lots of ear hats shown.

disneystore.com doesn't even begin to touch in on how many different ear hats are offered.

But, as another poster mentioned, I seem to find the best selection on Main Street, near Mr. Lincoln, which is also a Mad Hatter store, and doesn't seem quite as crowded to me as the one in Fantasyland. StarTrader carries them as well, but I have honestly never purchased one there bc they are also very crowded.
The one in Critter Country, Briar Patch, is more limited IMO.

Does he have a favorite character? I think we will be purchasing a Pluto & Goofy one this trip. pixiedust:

Thanks again for all the replies.

I had no idea there were that many stores around that did have all/most of the hats. I knew (but forgot) about the mad hatter since I never really went in there because of the crowds.

So, do those in Disneyland itself also sell the more CA characters (Toy Story, Cars, Monsters, etc)?

bumbershoot, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this! Everyone else in my family feel like I'm over thinking everything but their hats aren't exactly cheap so I feel like I want something he will enjoy. I hadn't even thought about the chin straps! I guess I thought they'd stay up on their own or something. This might rule out an ear hat altogether.:confused3

dizneekrazee, I have no idea which character/hat he'd go for since he loves Mickey, Goofy, Donald (he says his daddy is like Donald when he's upset :rotfl: ), Buzz, Woody, and of course Lightning McQueen.

I think they actually have ear hats for all of these characters...Mickey, Goofy, and Donald will be in most all of the hat shops. I think I saw Buzz or Woody ones (can't remember for sure). They have Lightning McQueen (or at least Cars ones) over in Carsland.
