Can we make a 11:50am flight out of Orlando after the cruise? Doing 4 day so coming back in on THursday am! Probably renting a car one way to turn in at Budget!

Thanks!

I would say yes. We had an 11 AM flight after our cruise last year and were there in plenty of time. :sunny:

DCL recommends flights after 12N.

DCL booked our airfare and booked our flight at 11:50.

We made it to the airport by 10:00 and were some of the last people off the ship around 9:00.

Plenty of time. Then our flight was delayed almost an hour. Bring something for the little ones to do in the airport just in case.

May depend on the DCL rep you talk to. I was just asking that very question today as I was booking a flight and the DCL rep told me to book a return flight after 12:30. It's just a little wiggle room in case something goes wrong and one passenger holds up everyone else.

I have not yet sailed on Disney, but when we returned from the Mariner of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) sailing in August into Port Canaveral we found that the Budget Rental Car shuttle service was HORRIBLE. Hertz and Avis appeared to be running much more frequently. Once we got to Budget there was a LONG line to get a car. This was definitely NOT an express car rental!

This was on a Sunday when the Wonder and the Mariner were both in port. It may be better on a Thursday, but just thought I would mention this...

Make the assumption that you will be off the ship and clear customs by 8:30 am. You may have to wait for the Budget shuttle, then the time of the ride, and loading and unloading luggage. Assume that takes 30 - 60 minutes.

Now, you need to get the car at Budget. Assume another 30 minutes to finalize the reservation and get luggage loaded.

So, you should be on your way to MCO by 10:00 am, and it is an hour drive.

Drop off the car and get to the ticket counter may be another 15 minutes.

11:50 is possible, but it might be tight. You are very dependent on all the shuttles. If you luck out and catch them all, you will do great. If you just miss all the shuttles, you may be a nervous wreck.

Can you get a car service to pick you up? That would save all the rental car time, and you could be at the ticket counter by 9:30. Or use DCL transfer just for the trip back.

I had the same flight time. We were off the ship by 8 and at the airport before 9 (taking DCL bus and checking our baggage at the pier). Don't rent a car - get a town car service that's waiting for you when you get off. Eat at BBB for breakfast @ 7am, then off the ship as soon as possible.
