EA - Has anyone waited for a larger car to show up?

I am heading to WDW Monday . I will be attending a meeting, and my family will join me later. Usually we rent a minivan for all 5 of us, but we're risking the EA this time, because minivan rates are out of control. I am not in any rush when I arrive alone, so I hope to hang around the EA until at least an Aztec or larger SUV shows up. Has anyone done this, and if so, how long did you have to wait? .
If worse comes to worse, I will get a smaller car and DH will take Mears with some of the luggage.

I checked out the aisle the last two times I went thru MCO. There were no Mini vans or SUVs. If you read the recent postings on the "what have you seen on the EA thread" they don't appear often.

My feeling is you could wait hours and NEVER see one. The best you can realistically hope for is a full size car.

We may have to send DH on Mears (he's strange - he actually enjoys Mears!), if we can't fit the whole family and all our bags in one car.
I have considered renting a compact for me for the 6 days I'm there, followed by a minivan for the 8 days everyone's there, but the 8 day minivan rate is outrageous, even with all the discounts available.
Hoping an Aztek may show up and we can squash into one of those!
Wishing for the good old days when there WERE minivans on the EA!

If you luck out and there's an Intrepid, you should all be able to fit and the trunk is huge!

In April, the Aztecs were all on the Full size aisle, not in the Emerald aisle.

When I went in May there were more Aztecs than any other type of car on the emerald aisle. I took an Aztec, and looks aside it was a nice car, plenty of room. Good luck, I hope you get what you want!

I leave tomorrow and have decided to stick with EA. Wish me luck!
