This might sound silly, but...I have reserved a fullsize car on the EA of National. I'm not quite sure which models are considered mid-size and which are full-size. Of course, I'll choose the car most desirable, but what happens if only mid-size cars are on the isle...how will I know that they aren't full-size. Silly, huh! :jester:

The full sizes I have rented from National were: Chevy Malibu, Toyota Camry, Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevy Lumina. There really isn't a "mid size" category, they call it intermediate. An example of an intermediate would be a Pontiac Grand Am or Olds Alero, a little smaller. If there are not any full sizes on the aisle, you can check over in the aisle marked full size. If none are available there, then see an attendant.

We got a Buick Regal on the "full-size" aisle. I have seen posts pointing out that there is a good reason to reserve a full-size instead of an intermedate on the EA because the costs appear to be the same. Then if there are no "full-size" vehicles on the EA one more will be brought over. If you rented an intermediate that is what you may get if no full-size vehicles are on the EA.

I've been an EA member for eight years. I had reserved a full-size once for an eight day vacation because we had four adults and two kids. When we got to MCO they were all out of full-size cars and tried to give me an intermediate. I asked to speak to the Supervisor and demanded a comparable vehicle for the same price. They gave me a brand new minivan with 125 miles on it for the price I had reserved the full-size for.

Thanks for the experience, ksdave! I've been having bad vibes about that very possibility.

erik;
Make sure you are firm with the attendants if they try and short you. If they do, ask to speak to the Supervisor or Manager. It may take up a few more minutes, but it is worth the effort.

We reserved Fullsize EA last Feb. When I arrived there were few cars available, all mid-size. I walked around for a few minutes looking for an attendent, and one drove up in a new SUV, s I grabbed it. I've heard good experiences for EA at MCO.

Now DENVER is another story, they stock their EA with 90% or more "intermediate", when we arrived, there was one full size out of 40 cars, and had a cracked dashboard. I tried talking to people there, and even called National, they said it's up to the individual location on how they stock EA and there was nothing they could/would do.
