E-ticket vs physical

I'm getting ready to order tickets, and wondering what the differences are between ordering an e-ticket versus a physical (paper? plastic?) ticket. I've plenty of time (months, in fact). Can either one be added to MDE? Are there any other advantages between one or the other?

Not much diff. Both can be added to your MDE account with a code. If you are using magic bands, not much need for the physical ticket. If you get an eticket and you can always get a physical ticket issued if you need/want. I guess if time and cost is no issue, I would opt for the physical one. I lost my magic band on RnR once and had to use my physical card for FP+ the rest of the day.

I just remembered, the other likely thing is that there's a 75% chance that we'll want to add water parks (to a 5 day park hopper ticket). I assume that's no problem either way?

Link the eticket to your MDE and Disney will use that link to complete the upgrade.

They can easily upgrade a hard plastic ticket's entitlements.

It's easier to manipulate and reassign eticket entitlements as long as you have MBs that are linked to the specific MDE account Profiles.
