This is is my first time choosing to print my own park tickets versus being mailed. Nothing like getting a ticket with a character on it!! Plus the kids love them! When you go through the gates do they exchange them out for a actual park ticket or do we pick the e tickets through out our stay? Thanks!!

They will give you one of the normal credit-card sized tyvek (paper-like) tickets the first time you go through the gates.

Another question were arriving in the evening can I go to the ticket booth and get them exchanged out for the paper tickets?

I saw the title, and I thought it might be going back to the point where visitors to Disneyland were still using paper tickets to board rides. The "E-ticket" was the highest level reserved for the biggest attractions.

If your printed voucher has a barcode on it, once it is scanned it will count as a day. So, if the ticket booth scans your ticket at night, that night will count for a whole day in the Parks. In the morning, you can go straight to the Park entrance and they will exchange your paper for an actual ticket.

I don't think that's quite right. Most tickets say valid 13 days from "first visit", and I always heard that the first visit is the day that you enter the turnstiles with the ticket.

The ticket phone number is listed here:

You could give them a call and ask.

Are you sure it's Tyvek? Last time we went was July 2013, and back then they were on cardstock. They came in perforated rolls, and I'm thinking they wouldn't have changed to something hard to tear or where they would need to change to a hopper.

I can check when I get back home tonight. I thought it was the Tyvek type "paper," but I honestly don't recall them using cardstock either in the past. Wouldn't that fall apart if it got wet?

Update: so I checked my ticket from MHP and it doesn't say Tyvek anywhere on it and it does have perforated edges. It feels different from the cardstock I'm used to working with, so I don't know if it's some type of coated cardstock or something else. I didn't try submerging it in water, so I don't know what would happen if it got wet. It wouldn't look very good in my scrapbook if it got all wrinkly! :rotfl:

The last tickets we had were some sort of coated paper - especially at the signature areas. Still - we wore sunscreen, and the image on the back of the ticket started lifting onto our fingers and left a noticeable fingerprint on the inks. I've seen lots of Tyvek, and any kind of inks have to be extremely stable.

Thanks!

You don't have to. That's an unnecessary step. When you go through the turnstiles the morning of your first day, they'll literally scan your printout and hand you a regular ticket. No waiting.

I started thinking about it, and if you tried taking your printed sheet to the ticket windows, they'll probably tell you to go straight to the turnstiles. Basically the ticket windows only handle purchases, upgrades, and some types of vouchers that are required to be handled through them. I think they also handle APs, although I've never had to worry about that.

However, if you purchase a ticket directly at the ticket windows, they're not activated for the "first day" until taking them to the turnstiles.

Thanks, you answered my question! As were not planning on using our tickets in the morning.
