Love the app, but I find the maps confusing and hard to get a good visual. Does anyone else think the maps should be improved?

It is the Disboards App, called E-ticket. It is $6 and they have one for WDW and one for DLR. It also lets you post on disboards from it. I have the DLR one. The DLR map seems ok to me, there is a filter button to narrow down your choices. However, right now, the filter button isn't working, at least on the DLR one. It closes the map when I use it. I have talked to a very nice guy at E-ticket tech support and he said they knew about it and it should be fixed in an upcomming update. But anyway, the map in general seems fine to me.

I have the WDW map and I had a little trouble at first with the filtering option on it. But once I got the hang of it, I really like it! I have trouble using the itinerary feature. I'm having trouble assigning my activities, ressies, etc to the correct day. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually though. :)

I guess I really need to do a review or feedback now that I've had a chance to use it at the parks. But, I found the maps to be confusing and hard to find anything on too! I also didn't care for the way you look up certain things, like menus and food locations. It is hard to tell if something is a counter service location, table service or just a snack cart. You have to take a lot of time to go into the different lands and scroll to find food locations and then go into each description and scroll some more to find out if there is a menu. It would be nice if you could search for them like on the actual wdwinfo.com website.

Hi all,
Here is a very quick review of the E Ticket App - mostly first impressions as I have yet to really go through every aspect of it.

So far, I find this App very confusing and not user-friendly. I held off purchasing the App at first, because of the reviews stating how cumbersome it was to use. After listening to this week's podcast and hearing about all the updates I decided to get it. I have to say that I was really disappointed with this App. I haven't used it in the parks yet, so this is my 'pre-park' review:

1. The maps are very difficult to use. The icons are tiny and many are right on top of each other so you can't even see half of what's there. The only way to see anything is to magnify the screen, but then it's hard to tell where you are in the park.

2. There really needs to be a Dining button on the front page. It's extremely difficult to try and find the restaurant you're looking for on the map when none of the icons have names on them. You have to click on it to see what it is...so unless you know exactly where in the park the restaurant is, it's a three hour project to click on each and every dining icon. It would be great to have the E Ticket Restaurant Info merged with something like the WDW Dining App that you can access from the main page.

3. Park Hours - Would love to see some extras in here, like the times guide and events schedule in addition to just park hours.

4. Disboards - I really like this feature, but why do I have to log in every single time?

5. DVC Calculator - I don't really understand why you have to input the number of points you have available. It would be much better to just select dates and a resort or multiple resorts and then have the amount of points be displayed...like the one on the website.

6. Attraction wait times would be awesome...if they could be accurate.

7. Another great addition would be something to help manage your DDP Credits. DH's biggest complaint about the DDP that he can never keep track of how many credits have been used and how many are left. I've had experiences in the past when Disney has made mistakes and taken off more credits than they should have, which is never really noticed until the end of the trip when you go to use them and they're not there. In the Itinerary portion of the App, the user could identify if their family will be on the Dining Plan and which one they are using. It could then automatically generate the number of credits you have. If the user adds restaurants and ADR's to the itinerary, it could state whether or not the DDP is accepted at that location and how many credits are required. Once a credit is used, the user could check off TS, QS or SN and that would be subtracted from the total number of credits left available.

Basically, I just downloaded this App today and these are my first impressions. We're heading down to WDW next month and I intend to try it out in the parks to really see the ins and outs of it. I think it has the potential to be a really GREAT App but it definitely needs some improvement. Right now, I have about 6 WDW Apps on my Iphone and it would be great if E Ticket could replace them all. I'm hoping that some changes will be made in the future and I'll be able to delete all the other WDW Apps that are taking up valuable podcast space. :-)
