Can anyone tell me a little about the seating on the ET ride? My 2 year old meets the height requirement (34"), but I was wondering if she will have to be able to sit in her own seat with a seatbelt or if its like a bench seat where she sits next to me.

Also, is SpongeBob easy to find in the parks? He's a definite "must-see", so I want to be sure we don't miss him!

Thanks :thumbsup2

The E.T. Adventure attraction uses bicycles to ride on. There may be something else for other riders but I haven't seen anything except the bikes. As far as I know, there is no bench seating for this attraction. If she meets the height requirement, she should be fine.

The characters at Universal are pretty easy to find and are walking around most of the day. There is a meet and greet area right in front of E.T. but I can't remember if I've ever noticed him there.

For ET everyone is on a personal bike seat, I have not seen a car with any benches.

For SpongeBob, he is at the exit of the Jimmy Neutron attraction, in the shop. You can also just enter that shop and you'll see him at the back.

That's a great site for people to find out about characters. Why don't you repost it in a new thread and I'll sticky it.

Thanks for the quick replies! Maybe I'll check out E.T. with my older DD first to see how I think the little one will do. She just turned 2 last week and she's a little unpredictable, so I'm a little worried about her staying strapped into her seat on her "bike", but she might do great. Guess we'll play it by ear...

Thanks again...

The bike seats are right next to each other, hooked together in a row. You could easily strap her seatbelt and then climb in the seat directly next to her and hold her hand under yours on the handlebars. That's what I did with my 3 year old neice. She loved the ride and was a-ok with me just being next to her and within easy touching distance. But try it first with the oldest as planned and see what you think. I worried about the same thing, but the little one loved it and felt like she was "flying her trikie"-her words.

It might be a good idea to see ET before the ride though. Although fast forward though the ET running out the closet screaming part. I freaked in the theater on that at age 3 and my dad had to run out of theater with me crying. My uncle had great fun on our first time on ET when I was 24 loudly asking in line if I would be ok, or did I need him to old my hand when ET came out, causing the whole line to crack up. Family can suck.:rotfl:

There are no seatbelts on the ride. You just sit on the seat and the handlebars come down.

True there are no seatbelts. It is just the handle bars that come down. Sorry, so used to saying seatbelts. :thumbsup2

Few things on ET (rode it yesterday :cool2:) the handlebars come down but they are also attached to a padded piece that holds over your thighs. It is pretty secure and presses down on each person as far as they need to be secure. Though they aren't truly "bench" seats you will have no trouble putting your arm around your daughter. The bike seats are right next to one another (4 per row).

Also - this ride can be scary for kids! You are driving through dark woods as cars turn their lights on and pop out at you. I would not let your younger daughter ride on the end seats as it feels like you could reach out and touch those things!

The first time my little sisters rode when they were 5 & 6 they came off sobbing. This was the very first ride we rode after buying passes to Universal for the first time. They were screaming that they wanted to go back to Disney!! :lmao: A team member came running up and told them they were really sorry that the ride was too scary and asked if we would trust her to pick our next ride. She walked us all the way back to Hanna Barbara (sp?) and walked us to the front of the line. When they came bouncing off the ride she was waiting with a line of stickers for each of them as tall as my sisters were!! This was 15+ years ago and we still talk about it. That one TM made us love Universal!

What a great story! Thanks for the smile this morning. :goodvibes
