Hi

Does it matter where the chip is in your passport? My husbands is in the back of the passport on the same page as his picture.
Does it have to be in the front cover or just have the logo on the front page to say its an e passport?

Hi,

Just to clarify... he he. :magnify:
Do you mean the international travels "real" passport? Or a Disney Pass? :rainbow:

A real passport. As of 1st April 2016 everyone travelling to the states needs an e-passport. However I just want to check that its ok for my husband to use the one with the chip in the back and not in the front cover.

Hi again,

I thought so, but just wanted to make sure. :flower3:

As an EU citizen myself I have read up on the rules for entering the USA via the Visa Waiver Program and E-Passports. :surfweb:

All your DH needs is a valid passport and the Visa Waiver Document to show when entering Immigration at the arriving airport. The passport should have an e-passport symbol on the front cover like this:
VWPePassportIcon.jpg

And then they read the code on the bottom of the front page <XXXXXXXXX XXXXXX> there it should show the validity of the passport for clearance to further scanning of the chip itself. The Immigration officers are very quick and handle the process very well for all sorts of nationalities entering the country. And us Europeans on the Visa Waiver Program are among the easiest to clear for entering the States. :dance3:

* In short, he should be just fine. :wave2:

You can always find more information here: https://www.dhs.gov/e-passports

The symbol on the front just says that it is a epassport. As long as he has that symbol on the front it doesnt matter whwre the actual chip or photo page are within the passport itself.
I used to work at the UK passport office. HTH

Thanks for your replies. Just want to be sure we have everything in order as i know American immigration is strict.
