Booked my first DVC stay on Saturday :) . When should I expect my e-mail confirmation? I don't want to be a pain and call them, but when I book reservations directly through Disney, I get one almost immediately. I was not even given a confirmation number. Is this normal?:confused3

DVC doesn't do e-mail confirmations. You'll get a paper confirmation by mail, in a couple of weeks. You can also view your reservation on the member site.

I've always been given a confirmation number, it'll be there with your reservation info on the member site.

I've definitely received email confirmations...but it can take a couple of weeks. You have to let them know when you book if you prefer a paper confirmation or email.

If it's a stay using developer points, it takes a loooong time to get your confirmation. More like 4 weeks. And you can't see it on the member website.

When did they start offering this. :confused3 I had started a thread a while ago of how much I would prefer to get email confirmations. And how it would help with the environment - save paper. It will also save the members on postage. I would love to see this implemented. I wish they would provide this option at every booking.

Every time I have asked, I have been told that email was not available. :confused3

Help the environment and save paper!!!
Who are you kidding...because of computers we are using more paper than ever before!!

When I booked a stay using developer points last week I was offered paper or email confirmation. I got my email I think 7 days later.

You're kidding correct?

If they sent me an email confirmation, that is one less paper and one less envelope and one less postage stamp. And since we pay for all these things with our annual fees, I would think it's a win-win situation.

We are not getting rid of computers so, why not work with it. No paper has to exchange hands if everything was sent via email. And for all the times we change our reservations, it would be better and far easier to delete the email than to shred the paper and recycle it.

By the way, if members still choose the paper confirmation, then that's fine. But isn't it better to be given a choice?

(Well, I suppose the post office would not be too happy about it since it would be less business going their way.)

Why do you think they give a discount on their loan finance rates when you use automatic draft vs. receiving a paper statement, because its cheaper and more efficient to do it electronically.

Going to an electronic confirmation system would save the owners money, it would be far faster than waiting 10-14 days for a paper statement and would be something most of us have been requesting for a while now.

I for one hope they are heading in that direction sooner than later.

That is wonderful to hear!

The last time I called MS for a reservation was September and they didn't offer a choice. I'm glad it has changed.

On my next reservation, I will definitely request an email confirmation. That is excellent news!:thumbsup2
