Walmart is having an emachines laptop on sale for $198, how many of these do you think the stores will be getting in? Do you think I would be able to just order this online around 3 A.M.? I would love to be able to get 3 of these:scared1: (one for each kid) I know that is probably wishful thinking, but I still want to try.

This is a hard question to answer specifically. I would think that the store manager would know how many were ordered for that store.

Give it a try, you may be able to pull it off. :goodvibes

I'm also interested in these. I do know that they are only available at the store. I also know that walmart doesn't currently sell this model, so there's no way to know exactly how good this deal really is. I'd love to hear any other info. on these.

Really - only in stores???? I would check online in case. You never know - I bought TV's that way last year.....

Unless something changes before tomorrow, this $198 laptop won't be available online. Some of the other models will. I know, I was bummed too. If you click on the ad at Walmart.com, then click on what you are interested in, it will tell you if it's instore only or both online and instore.

I wonder how many each store will get? I'd love one too.

Last year when I went the store I was at had 32. They only allowed one per a person so I had to get DD to purchase the other one. They made you stand in the line until 5 and then check out. If you left the line you had to give your ticket back. They allowed you one restroom break and gave you like ten minutes or they would give your ticket to someone else. Luckily DD is little and snuck out of line to grab the crockpot and vacuum I wanted because when they opened up the pallets of other items those getting the laptops had to sit in line and wait to get rung up.

What time did you get to Walmart to get the laptop? My friend wants to get one (along with TV, etc) and I want to tell her what time is good to get there. I figure at least 2-3 hours before opening? (It's a 24 hour Walmart in a suburban location)
I bought this laptop at the Best Buy Friday Sale several weeks ago for $60 more, but I still think it was worth it to not battle with WalMart on Black Friday :)

Probably earlier than that. When we got there at midnight last year we walked by electronics and the laptops were already all spoken for. People line up *really early for them.

My wife worked for wal-mart for a while, you can expect mass confusion and rules to be different from store to store. The $198 laptop is MASSIVELY slow, you are getting what you pay for. But if you want one, I'd be sure it's one per person, always has been and having done best buy overnights a few times in the past, you likely need to get in line about 3pm or earlier on Thanksgiving day.

Oh, and calling the store and asking what their plan is can help, but again, it's walmart - you'll find what they tell you the day before is not what actually happens. Training is and has always been a huge issue at Wal-Mart.

We went to our supercenter first, around 2:45 and hey were already done giving out tickets. I said oh well let's try the regular Walmart up the road and they had just a few tickets left. It was probably about 3. I don't know how it will go this year with part of the sale starting at midnight!

Thanks for replying - I'll tell my friend this. BTW - I got the laptop for DS8 and DS5 to share. I hope this laptop is adequate to run Raz-Kids, Webkinz, youtube and their kids CDRom games. They got Nintendos & Xbox to run the big stuff :)

E Machine really??? That was our 1st desk top. They had to replace the dail up thingy 3 times and it still did not work they pulled every e machine office depot had and gave us a credit to buy any other Computer office depot carried. Thus my love for HP desk tops began!!

PLUS DON'T FORGET CYBER MONDAY!!!!!

DS had an emachines laptop and it worked really well, even for games a 16 yo boy plays. It lasted about a year before he broke the screen. We had the Square Trade warranty and they just sent us a check(too hard to repair) The Toshiba we got next was 2x the cost and broke down 3x in the first month:headache:

Thats funny because I have had many diferent brands of computers- we usually have at least 4 working computers hooked up in my house at any time and the one that lasted the very longest was an emachine- never had a problem with it either. My daughter ended up using that as her play computer when shewas a little kid and by then it was about 7 years old and still running strong!

My friend went to her walmart tonight and saw the laptops (and other bf items) in lawn n garden way up high. she said that they had about 30 of them. The store is going to be handing you a ticket in one line and then you have to go to lawn n garden to pick up your item. Hope this helps.
