E-cigs?

No they do not live in a bubble. But they have been taught a respect for themselves and others, which quite frankly a lot of smokers have neither. They will flat tell people it is disgusting, harmful and stupid to be a smoker-don't worry I have taught them well about not smoking. But, as the phrase goes It takes a village to raise a child and if the village is filled with self-centered morons the children don't stand much of a chance.

My, my aren't you folks out to fix the world with your directness and sheer will power. Trouble is what you are teaching them is that they can just walk up to people and "straighten" them out. While your at it, teach them how to stop the bleeding because some day they will run into someone that not only doesn't care about what they think, they might even react to the intrusion physically. The world isn't always, in fact very seldom is, a pretty place.

Well, like the others I would use these E cigs in a designated smoking area. All too often, some people may perceive these as real cigs, and bash you.

On a lighter note.

After 25 years of smoking............I started a new life on May 20, 2011...........I quit smoking cold turkey.........

Craved them on about the fourth day, but, did not give in.

I have never been so proud............

I have never felt better.............this will be the first vacation with my family, (except when I was Pregnant) that they will not have to take time out to let me smoke.

If I can do it, then..............
35 days down...........life to go!

Safe travels.

Actually, anyone that uses the two bolded phrases together is pretty much a moron and really needs some basic comprehension courses. If your kid told me I was stupid for being a smoker, I'd tell the little brat to piss up a rope. I'm sure for people like you it does take a village to raise a kid. Personally I don't let the village idiots have any influence on my children.

Right on. Calling people "self-centered morons" in one breath, and then teaching her kids--who in her own words have been "taught respect for others"-- to call an adult "stupid" in the next breath is kind of an oxymoron-(pun intended)--isn't it?

Wow, I never imagined lighting up such a firestorm (pun intended). I only asked about Disney policy regarding e-cigs.

I agree that smoking is a dirty, smelly habit, but I honestly tried to quit not too long ago and then the spit hit the spam, so to speak, and right now is not a good time. I've tried patches, gum, lozenges, but e-cigs are the only things that satisfy that oral craving I get.

I never smoke outside of a DSA in the parks or resorts, and truly these devices are non-offensive. Those of you who are so virulently anti-smoking could literally stand in front of me while I exhale the vapor, and all you would smell is - nothing. It's simply a nicotine delivery system.

Exactly. I agree that it is a bad habit, just like I believe that being morbidly obese is unhealthy. I'd tear my kids' rears if they ever called anyone stupid just like I would if they saw Jabba the Hutt scarfing down a triple cheese burger and called her fatty. Nobody's perfect, and most people have some unhealthy habit or another and it doesn't make them bad people or self-centered or rude or anything else. The truly self-centered ones are like the PP I responded to, expecting everyone else to abide be his/her selfish wishes rather than letting people be and live their own life.

Wow! A simple question about Disney policy causes so many to be so mean and judgemental. :(

What a shame. :(

So sorry OP...about your loss and the tone of this thread.

No one has responded negatively to the OP at all. Most of us agree that it shouldn't be of any concern to anyone and to those that are concerned...Oh, well, life is a B and then you die.

The subject of the thread and it's association with cigarette smokers is always going to solicit holier than thou responses and how their sensitivity to smoke causes their future grand-children's second cousin by marriage to sneeze. It's just the way of the boards.

I never said anyone directed negative comments directly to the OP but there are certainly judgements being made toward smokers in general. That is what I'm talking about.

I've been here a long time. I know the ways of the boards. Doesn't mean I have to like it or that I can't comment on it. :thumbsup2

shoot... this is tame compared to "boys in the women's room" and "old refillable mug" threads...

I actually found it very interesting.
With the development of new technology, things just aren't going to be black and white anymore... who would have thought that you would have to have any kind of policy for anything other than cigarettes in a smoking/non smoking area?

Maybe they should add it to the Carousel of Progress!

you said it, vapor. period. steam vapor. why do people even connect the concept to smoking? it is not smoking at all. i will call it my candy vaporizor. lol!

Why was it necessary to dredge-up a discussion from over a year ago?

:headache::crazy2:

Look at it from the other direction. Ignoring the whole mistaken for cigarettes thing.

If i was stood behind you in the line and was constantly misting some strange smelling liquid at you and your children, would you be OK with that?
