I'm cleaning out the house and have a bunch of crap....um, wonderful items....that I want to sell. I honestly don't want the hassle, so I've been thinking of going to an e-bay drop off place. I know they'll take half the profits and that stinks, but is it worth the convenience?

If not, can someone walk me through the steps.

So, I have an item....I register an account with e-bay. I register an account with paypal. Then what? How do I calculate shipping so I can add that into the price? Can someone take me, step-by-step, through the process? You select an item to sell and then what do you do??

TIA!

I wouldn't use those drop off places. They take a nice percentage of everything they sell for you.

Seriously, ebay is incredibly user friendly and it's very easy to list your items. Just register, click on the sell your item link and the system will prompt you through every step. It's so simple my very computer challenged mother can do it! As for calculating postage, I usually just guess. If it's a small item that will fit in a priority box, I charge $4.95.

You are better off getting a guide to ebay selling. Rather than hoping someone here will type every little tip for selling/shipping/feedback, etc...

I was thinking of that, but I'm not sure what the market is for this stuff. It's mostly sports memorabilia. If it was clothes or something useful, I'd go that route, but I'm not sure there is a huge market at Goodwill or Salvation Army for baseball cards and autographed baseballs. :goodvibes

Go to ebay and do a search for the same or like items you have and look at the completed auctions to see what they are going for.
