DxDP or ticketed events - which do you prefer?

I realize this might not be an either/or for everyone but it is for us - do you prefer the DxDP, or to spend the money on ticketed events instead? Obviously we have to eat but the DxDP is so, so much food, so when we get it (like for our upcoming trip), we book lots of buffets/signatures and really enjoy ourselves, but then I don't want to spend money on anything else, particularly since tips aren't included and that adds a nice chunk of change. I'm wondering if we should do ticketed events instead that come with food, like EMM or dessert parties, and eat mostly QS instead. We have never done a single ticketed event in all of our visits (10+) and I'm wondering if we're missing out.

Halloween and Christmas parties are the only ticketed events we've done, but we do really like the DxDP. DH and I (no kids) have done it the last 2 years and have really enjoyed it. Most days we do a Breakfast Buffet around 10 and then a Signature dinner and don't really feel like it is too much food. Only one day did we do 3 sit down meals in a day and that was a little much.

I would 100% book ticketed events instead, especially if dah is included in that list. We’ve done mnsshp as well and I would easily choose that over the dining plan. Dh and I don’t like feeling like we HAVE to eat a ts meal every day because sometimes we just want to walk up and get some food or eat snacks instead of a full meal. We also aren’t big on buffets because the food always leaves something to desire.

I'd do MNSSHP, but other than that, none of the above.

Ticketed events! We aren’t fans of the DxDP, it’s just too much food. But we loved MNSSHP and MVMCP, and I have heard great things about EMM.

So we really splurged on our trip last December...it was our first time at WDW. We did Deluxe Dining plus both EMM, the Star Wars Guided Tour, the Fantasmic Dessert Experience, HEA Dessert Party, and my daughter’s did Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We’re going in September and doing Deluxe again (I don’t think we’ll ever go without). I don’t think it’s too much food at all but we like the breaks as we’re rope drop to close people, and we just love the dining experiences and the character meals for our girls. For all the extras we did, we would only do the Star Wars Tour and MAYBE the Fantasyland EMM, and that’s only if I had a short trip and couldn’t guarantee I’d have time to ride everything.
