DxDP -- Les Cellier, sides as apps?

Looking over the lunch menu at Les Cellier for our next trip. On the DxDP. I know my wife, who strictly watches what she eats, won't care for any of the appetizers. If she is having a large serving of beef for her main course, she will want an especially light appetizer. Nothing with cheese, for example.
They have grilled asparagus as a side.... Any experience on whether she would be able to get the asparagus side dish, as her appetizer?

According to several posts I've seen, no, they won't allow the separate sides to be substituted for other items.

That's what I expected. Which is kind of ridiculous. Maybe we'll order the "steak with asparagus as the entree, hold the steak"

You wouldn't be able to substitute the asparagus for an entree side either. I think what they say is that if you want a separate side, you pay for the separate side. You can ask when you get there, but I have seen that mentioned about Le Cellier. If the steak is listed on the menu as being served WITH the asparagus, then you could get the asparagus. I do specifically remember someone asking if they could substitute the asparagus for the included potato side and being told they could not.

You could, however, switch the included side with an entree for a side that was featured with another entree. You just couldn't swap it for a side that appears only on the separate side listing.
