Our waitlist just came through, we already had 3 nights, we now gave 1 extra on the end, they've sent the confirmation email and we've checked online, the reservations are "linked" and have the same number but are still appearing as 2 separate reservations, one for 3 nights and one for 1.
I know you can't segment reservations to add dining plans now but would I be able to do the dining plan just the last night in this situation?

The best way to find out is to call MS. The rules and what really happens seems to be up to who you talk to.

when we were there in October we were waitlisted for Sept 30 and had Oct 1-9 already booked. We got the 30th and it appeared as 2 reservations but one reservation number. I wanted to start the dining plan on the first knowing that the 30th was just a day to get settled in. I was told that I had to have the dining plan for the whole time we were there and could not pick and choose which nights we wanted it. Hope this helps

Most likely no unless it changed over the last few weeks. I had exactly the type of reservation you have and I called THREE times after the recent change and was told no each and every time. As long as you are staying in the same room and same resort, they won't let you do it. I had a 6 day reservation that I booked with my BWV points and at the 7 month window I booked the day prior with my SSR points. THey were listed as 2 different reservation for the longest time and I tried to add the delux ddp to the 1 night reservation and was turned down each time.

We are hoping to get our first night at BLT at the 7 month mark...the next seven nights at OKW, which is already booked. Can we ger the DXDP for the first night at BLT only?

Yes. If you are changing rooms/resorts, you can add a DP to one of the segments without the other since they are considered 2 different reservations. I did this when we stayed 2 nights at BLT followed by 3 nights at BWV.

I would think the answer would be no.......IF both reservations include ALL of the same people. That said, we just returned two weeks ago from BWV...stayed in a 1 bdrm for 4 nights.....the first 3 nights it was just DH and myself and the last night my cousins from the Clearwater/St. Pete area joined us to enjoy the F & W Festival.....however, I didn't add them until about 4 weeks before our trip since they didn't know for sure if they could make it until then. When I called to add them I inquired about DDP and how it would work if we added it.......was told not a problem......since it was only DH and I for the first 3 nights and then 4 of us for the last night.......MS linked the reservation and we did get new room keys (4 of them instead of the 2 we had) on the morning of our last night. Actually, MS told me if we wanted DDP for one part of the ressie and DXP for the other that wouldn't be a problem since in essence they were two separate reservations....one with 2 people and one with 4 people. However, the linked reservation DID mess up our T&T day.......we didn't get any......we got back to our room about 10:00 p.m. on our last night and our towels were still in the bathtub where I had left them in the A.M......trash I wasn't concerned about since we take our own to the trash room every morning on the way out......so I needed to call housekeeping to come switch the towels (normally I would have just washed them myself....but I was already a little annoyed with housekeeping at BWV because of the condition our room was upon our initial arrival a few days before)
