We are going at the end of August, and considering upgrading to the DXDDP, as we both work our bums off and want a big break. During our stay my parents are coming down for 3 days. Can we use some of our credits to pay for their meals with us (yes they are included on our dining reservation)?

No. Only those registered to your room can use the credits. The others will have to pay OOP.

Nope. You can't use your credits to buy meals for persons who are not on your resort reservation. Doesn't matter if they are on your dining reservation or not. If you have 3 adults and 1 child on DDP they will allow you to use DDP to pay for only 3 adult meals and 1 child meal.

As the others said, no. Your card (or magic band when they scan it), will say 2A and 2C, or whatever the # of adults and children are on your plan. They will not allow you to order more meals than that with ddp credits.

No worries, thanks for the responses! Just did the calcs and we would end up with 5 extra dining credits, and with all that food, DxDDP didn't make sense!

Ended up adding M&D to our ressie, and taking advantage of Free Dining. Even though they are only there for half the time, it gives us the extra meals for half the upgrade cost of DxDDP. Now none have to worry!
