Where is the outrage at her party boy ex husband? Nope, they only have eyes for Kate. Pathetic really, to waste so much energy "hating" someone they don't even know.

Added: I just read the previous post, so I don't know the situation or post it was taken from.. I think it was just a comment on being judgemental when you don't really know the whole truth.

Actually I don't care what the truth is when it comes to her on DWTS. I don't care that she is going to be on the show, however I don't buy for one minute that she has to. If she does then she needs a very good financial planner if after being paid for her reality TV she still needs to be on TV to support herself. Anyway the only real issue I have with her being on the show (and mind you its not a real issue because I don't care) is that she isn't a "star".
As for being judgemental, why is it accepted to only judge her in a positive way but not a negative one? When a person signs on to pimp their lives on TV its because they want people tp watch, judge, learn from etc, the problem is they just don't expect any of it to be negative, and in Kate & Jon's case it is and its justified. She's a witch, you can say what you want but I've seen the show, so Im free to have my opinion about her just as you are. Your horse isn't any lower than mine because your judgement is positive

Re: Kate. When people put themselves on TV they open themselves up for judgement. Kate isn't stupid, she knows this. As far as the same bashing for Jon, this subject isn't about Jon. For what it is worth, I dislike them both, but for different reasons.

Kate can do this, it is her choice and her right if she was asked, she ir right up there with most of the non-celeb celebs. Meaning most of these people have no real talent or they re has beens or famous for being famous. There are some exceptions.

I bad mouthed Paul McCarney's ex when she was on. I was thrilled when she as voted off.

I think the reason most people don't like Kate is because of her attitude. Fro me if she would just admit that she I got sucked into the lime light, yes we do get so much than the normal person because we are on TV I would be fine. But her sense of entitlement is just unbelievable, the way she talked to Jon in the beginning was unreal. I am not talking about the was she ordered him around, maybe she did need to. I have been watching the old ones recently and I would actually sit there and watch her fight with Job over who got credit for something, also if Jon said anything that he did, she would get mad and say Jon do you need to let you public know so yu can get credit. Total pot calling kettle black. No one but could get credit for anything except Kate, which makes me wonder about Jodi and Kevin, which is a whole other discussion and I have already gotten way off topic.

Just posting because I find this statement interesting. I have no doubt she played a part, but I have no idea if she is the reason. I don't know what all was hidden in that marriage. As far as I know, she may have kept it together.

Am I the only one who remembers how disliked Doherty was towards the end of Beverly Hills? How she was talked about in the rag mags? What her co workers thought of her? What was said about working with her when she did her few Lifetme movies? Between her and Kate, I think the show is going to be interesting, and heck, Kate might even come out ahead of her, nice wise.

I agree, and I'm not a Kate fan. She's a working mom; there have been many other working moms on the show. What would everyone like her to do? She has to support her children, and she would be crazy to turn down this opportunity.

I think you mean "idolizing" and I don't idolize anyone. We all do the best we can with the choices we have made- sometimes you get it right, sometimes you don't.

Yes she is. It's funny, everyone always blames Jon for the marriage problems. But if you've watched the show (like I have) from day one, Kate is the driving force behind the problems. I think her domineering, bossy attitude, blatant disgust for nearly everything those kids would do (I can recall an episode in which she was pissed off about them bringing toys upstairs and she in turn flung everything they brought up down the stairs. What kind of mother does that, anyway, besides a callous one?), and control over Jon broke them up. I think she needs to go away. Those of us with a life don't care about seeing her on DWTS trying to fit in with the celebs. The way she always acted when criticized on J&K, I'll hate to see the fit she pitches if Len Goodman lights into her about her dancing! She's such a phony and a try-hard! I thought I'd never bad-mouth anyone on DWTS again after seeing that ***** Heather Mills on, but Kate ranks pretty high on my bad-mouth list now for that show.

I'm excited to see Jake and that's about it. He'll be getting my votes. I hope Kate is out on the first night. Save me the agony of waiting for her to get the boot.

I have never seen where anyone blames just Jon for the marriage problems, although I've seen many blame just Kate. I have no idea whose fault the problems were. I only got to see what TLC decided to show. I have watched it from day one, and it's interesting to me, that I missed a lot that Jon said and did..albeit quietly, that I see on reruns. I knew how Kate acted, but I had missed a lot of Jon's little jibs. That said, I assume, just like all other marriages, it was both of them that led to their break up. Now they are on their own, and we'll have to see if that makes a difference in both of their attitudes.
As for why she is on DWTS, LOL, well, the producers seem to know who will want to watch them. We sure spnd a lot of time talking about this non star. I sure never thought I would enjoy Jerry Springer, but I did. He was a different person when not acting for the camera's and his show. I'm hoping we'll see a different Kate. Jon will prob be on next season and I'd watch him too LOL!!

I would like to see her spend more time with her children. She worked so hard to get them, and doesn't realize what a gift that is. If I had 8 children scared:yikes!!), there is no way I could possibly have that much free time to do stuff for myself or my career or my hair for that matter.

As far as money problems, LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. Children don't need fancy clothes and big houses, they need quality time, love and attention.

The older kids are in school full time, and the younger part time. Jon also has them part time. If she went back to nursing, unless she was able to work just while they are in school (which isn't the way it is around here when just starting out..she'd prob get nights and weekends and have to sleep sometime, but again who would hire her at this stage?) she might even see them less. For her and her family, this might work out well. I do assume we'll see them in the audience (my kids would have had a lot of fun to see a show like this), and I bet that will be a thrill for the kids, just like it was for other mother's who have had their kids there.

As for living within her means. I don't know that she isn't. What does that mean? If she has jobs, such as DWTS, her new TV show, if that happens, isn't that how she is making her means? Do we know now that the money was put back in her account, that she isn't? If she sold the house, I imagine she would owe more than she could get right now, so I don't know if selling would be the answer for her. Maybe down the road that will work for her, although they both said the house was the kids, so not knowing if there is a contract involved, I don't know if that is even possible.

I hope that this is a new begining for both her and Jon and the kids.

Actually I have used her as a mental example of how never to treat my husband. After seeing her emasculate Jon on TV for months and months over the smallest things, my tone with my husband became more respectful when we argued. I get your point though - I love the saying 'It's easy to run other people's lives with your mouth'.

It's about DWTS and Kate (per your title) - her marriage and family life IS why Kate illicits such visceral responses from people. You can't separate the two.

I don't agree with what the haters say, but they have the right to say it and then others have the right to respond.

Personally I've never watched DWTS... I prefer Mtv's ABDC- where there is actual dance talent. I don't understand how they (the producers) put skaters and dancers on with other people. I don' t really think that's fair. I'm a HUGE Niecy Nash fan (both Reno 911 and Clean House)- I may actually watch for her As for Kate- I'm not a fan. I believe that she is riding on her kids' to her own personal fame..

It might be close to the bottom of the barrel (I thought they had done that with Jerry and Mills ) but I still think it's going to make for an interesting show.
They must think someone is going to watch or she wouldn't have been invited on. There seems to be a lot of people interested in Kate, if it be because they hate her, or because they like her.
