Hello,

Our first trip to DW will be in early April (2 adults). I have the option of Saturday to the following Sunday (9 park days) at DW and staying on resort. Alternatively the last two days which are a Saturday and Sunday could be spent at a universal resort and that park. The catch is that the last two days I will be solo as my traveling partner will be at a conference. I have a disability and a service dog and am somewhat apprehensive about visiting a new theme park on my own but also am wondering if I might be done/bored with DW after 7 days. It feels easier just to stay put at Disney since I will know my way around and be comfortable by that point but I also have always wanted to go and see the Harry Potter area at US. For what it’s worth, I don’t ride “thrill rides.” Also the express pass for US is appealing to me especially since the last two days would be weekend days and likely pretty busy.

I hope that my thought process is making sense and I appreciate any tips/advice/insight.

Thank you very much

US is AWESOME i would vote for the 7/2 Itinerary

the theming is great if you just want to walk around and see the HP stuff. when we turned the corner to Diagon Alley my daughter stood there with her mouth open for a few minutes

I would definitely mix in US but I’d go middle of the trip, like a thurs/Friday.

have you considered visiting the Universal parks earlier in your trip with your travelling partner if you're apprehensive about navigating something unfamiliar on your own and then spend the last 2 days at Disney where you'd be in more familiar surroundings?

I concur with @Buddyex-- if you want to visit US, do it with your person. On the days they're not available, you can visit a Disney Park that you've already been to on this trip, so you'll have some familiarity while you're on your own.

I think it depends on how much you like Harry Potter. If your a potter fan it’s a no brainer and will be better than anything at WDW. But apart from that it’s pretty mediocre overall. (Velocicoaster is the best rollercoaster by far, also, but a single coaster doesn’t make a park). If you do, I would personally tag it on the end or beginning and move to a US deluxe resort for unlimited fast pass. Can easily see the whole of both parks with fast pass and 2 days, and still fully enjoy HP, which really takes a solid day in itself. Of course you only really need one day at a deluxe to get two days fast pass, so if you arrive early enough on day 1 or leave late enough on the last day you would only need to do one.

edit : if your not a potter fan you probably haven’t actually watched all the movies. They are pretty solid and worth pushing through a few weaknesses in the first couple. Bought them all for my wife a few years ago and she basically rewatches them all every quarter.
