DW update -- No "all clear", but not bad news (yet)

Just spoke to DW -- she has imflammation on the bottom of both of her lungs, which could be one of three things (listed from most likely to least likely):

1. Radiation burn (there's a more technical term that I wasn't able to remember). Apparently, she's a prime candidate for this sort of thing, due to the long stretch of radiation she went through in that area.

2. More Hodgkin's

3. Pnumonia (not very likely, as she's not showing any other symptoms).

He's treating DW as if it's option 1 (steroids for three weeks) and then after more CAT-scans, he'll be able to determine if that was the problem. If it doesn't go away, she'll have to have another biopsy.

So, it's not over, but there's hope that this is just a minor setback.

I'm voting for option #1, but ouch, doesn't sound like it would be fun...can she feel it? Hoping she wil be getting that 'all clear' very soon! Thanks for keeping us updated, I was wondering how she was doing.

Sorry to hear about this bump in her road to recovery. I hope that it ends up being the radiation burn and that after treatment she will be clear.

Steve, continued prayers coming your way. I did have radiation burn in my lungs after 31 treatments. I still have scar tissue, but it's something that's been easy to deal with. Hopefully your wife will be able to deal with this and it's nothing worse. My best to you both.
