DW starts chemo tomorrow morning

My thoughts and prayers are with you this morning Nicole

{HUGS} to you both.

Thoughts and prayers with you today and the next few months. I know its scary and not fun, my best friend just recently finished her chemo. Hugs, kisses and laughter with your family and friends are the best medicine to help through this. And my friend swore by the foot massages her DH gave her after each treatment to help relax her and make her feel special. Hope the time goes by quickly for you guys until its May and you have good news!

Best wishes Nicole. I'll be thinking of you today. Hugs to you and your family.

Prayers and pixie dust on the way for Nicole! I'll be keeping her in my prayers. Prayers for you and Cam also.

Thanks again everyone. :)

An update -- I just talked to her -- she was on the way home and feeling pretty good (for now, at least).

Turns out, my Mom went with her (they talked her Mom into going into work for a few hours ) and they went through an info session for a 1/2 hour or so (my Mom translated for her ), then started treatment. One thing none of us knew was that the four drugs they give her were not a mix (like a cocktail), but rather, they were given one after the other.

My mom ran over and picked up Cameron at school, then came back and picked up Nicole, so they should all be home by now. :)

I am glad to hear that she completed her first treatment and is feeling pretty good. My Mom always felt worse 2-3 days after the treatment. She had a treatment on Tuesday and today has been her worst day this week.

You will find that they tend to leave some information out. I think it is just because there is so much to cover that they can't remember it all. Ask a lot of questions.

Lots of prayers & good thoughts being sent your way.

Dear Jesus,

Please rid Nicole of this horrible disease. Please let her continue her life as wife to Steve & dear mother to Cameron until (at least) she sees her grandchildren brought to life. Please heal her heart, soul, mind & body so that she can continue to bring Your works to others. Once she is healed, let her be a teacher to those facing the same fate, to help them through their ordeal. We know that only You can answer our prayers and we love you & trust in your miracles. Please hear our prayer in Your name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Now if everyone who reads this thread reads the little prayer I wrote, then Jesus will be absolutely bombarded with prayers for your lovely DW & hopefully will answer all our prayers for a full recovery.

(I don't mean to offend anyone who does not believe in Jesus. Just please pray to your higher power for Nicole's sake.)

Steve, we're living with the "C" word in our home too. My mother has Bone Marrow Cancer & there is no cure for that. Currently, my mom is under treatment to hold it at "bay" but her cancer is very advanced. So, I completely understand all the emotions you & your family are going through now. My heart pours out sympathy for you & your family because I know how scarey this is. I wish I could help in some way. That's the worst part for family members....feeling so helpless. We're all hoping for a positive outcome after her chemo treatment.

God Bless you & give you the strength you need,

Mishetta

Glad to hear things went well this morning. My mom's worse day was always the day after but usually the first treatment (both times) were not bad at all - it was after the 2nd treatment that she started feeling some of the "side affects" more - tired, achy, icky taste in her mouth, etc. Nauseau was never a thing with her thanks to the meds that they gave her which is probably one of the meds they inserted into Nicole before her "main" drugs.

I'm curious - did she have to take any pills before her treatment - like yesterday or will she have to take any tomorrow or for a couple of days. I know all cancers and treatments are different and my moms last round of treatments were much different then her first round. It was just a curiosity question.

They gave her a prescription for some anti-nausea medication and I know they gave her a shot before her chemo because she was anemic, but otherwise, no, she didn't take any other medicines beforehand. :)

Glad to hear things have went well and i hope that they contuine do so!!!!

I didn't get the chance to post on this yesterday, but am glad things went well and hope they continue to do so.:D
