DW NOV 2009 Trip:1st Trip during Holidays!

We are planning our First Ever Trip to Disney World during the Holiday Season.

We've been to DW several times, and took our twin boys when they were 16 mos old in 2/08. We've never been during the holidays and we're excited to go and see the decorations.

The twins will be 3 by then, which is a good age for Disney.

I'm trying to get information on a few things. We're planning to go the week of Thanksgiving (because our oldest who is 11 will be off school 3 days that week).

We will be staying off-property at the Marriott Cypress Harbor Vacation Club. DH travels a lot for work and has lots of marriott pts that we are using for the stay (and keeping costs down). We've stayed there before and we like it, plus it's a short distance down I-4 from DW.

How busy are the parks the week of Thanksgiving?

What restaurants at Disney do you recommend for eating a T-giving dinner?

What is the Mickey & Minnie's Holiday Party? I notice it requires extra tickets. Is it worth it?

I hope that you all have a wonderful time on your trip.

As far as Restuarants, well I haven't been in fourteen years but if you're wanting counter service-- Cosmic Rays (Tomorrowland) is good. Pecos Bill (Frontierland)..And for table service I highly recommend Cinderella's Royal Table (CRT)--the menu is limited but it's also something you should do at least once.

I myself have only stayed on Disney property once but haven't since. But when we do go in June it will be on Disney Property.

I'm pretty sure that Liberty Tree Tavern @ Magic Kingdom serves food that would be considered traditional Thanksgiving food, so it might be a good choice for Thanksgiving dinner. I've never been to the special parties, but most everyone who has seems to think they're a good deal...
