DVR ? Help!

I know you can record 2 programs at the same time, but why can't you watch a third channel while the other 2 are recording, or can you? I am currently recording 2 programs and when I went to switch to watch Desperate Housewives a box popped up that gave me 3 choices

Cancel one of the shows that was recording
Switch to the other channel that's recording
Cancel wanting to switch to the Desperate Housewives channel

Is this just how DVR is or is there a way to bypass this?

You can only watch a pre-recorded show as the third option.

That's how mine works. You can record two shows at one time. Then you can watch either of those shows or watch a third that has previously been recorded. So you can only record/watch two current shows at one time.

Unfortunately, that's just how DVR is. We have the same issue some nights with our DVR, as far as we know, there's now way to bypass it.

Same here - however, sometimes I get around it by seeing if any of the 3 channels is rerunning at a later time and recording it then.

Unfortunately, that's just how DVR is.

Are we becoming that spoiled that we are no longer satisfied with being able to record two shows at one time. Don't worry I'm sure soon enough we'll have the abilities to record any number of shows without limits.

Geez, and I remember the days of only 4 channels and you had to GET UP to change them!
