Only Beach Club Villas has the DVD players. I guess we'll have to wait to see if any of the other resorts decide to enter the 21st century.

Please don't be so quick to spend our dues. I would imagine the cost of upgrading would be significant.

Not at all! You can keep imagining.

My understanding in another thread where someone mentioned it a while back, was as vcr's conk out they're being replaced with dvd's. And they're not more expensive anymore, usually actually lower in cost than a good vcr now, and will hold up better, both the unit and the media.

Here's a good example from a national retailer.

Very little price difference, and they probably get an even better price buying in large numbers.

I agree. DVD players have fallen very fast in price. And although they do come out of our dues, I have no problem with an item like this being paid for from dues because I'm sure it will make many DVCers' vacations that much more enjoyable. (I know that my family would certainly appreciate it, and I don't think I'd be in the minority.)

Plus, DVDs are easier to pack.

When we were home at OKW in May, DH noticed that the selection of videos was getting less and less so possibly it could be that they know eventually they are going to switch to DVDs. I agree with everyone else who said they would easier to carry and it makes sense that they would replace the VCRs as they wear out with DVDs so eventually all the resorts are the same. Hope it is soon. Someone who stayed in Building 47 in an earlier thread said they had a DVD, maybe that's the beginning and they'll do it one by one.
