Hello my fellow DVC'rs....First...How come I called first thing this morning, to book my ADR for Le Celier, and it was already booked for the entire 4 days we are there?? :confused3 I was told to call on the 13th, since we arrive on the 13th, and it was already booked for 13-17th? And, how is the Yacthsman? We ended up with that for dinner...AND, finally, how close is the Yacht Club to BWV? Is it walking distance?

Thanks gang

Yatchman is okay - it can be better the LeCellier - but it is also most expensive.

Definitely walking distance to BW.

a little past the pool

don't know if it would be faster to walk to the BC - or Dolphin? it is about mid point from each of them

Very $$$$. Good though. Easily walkable from BWV.

Thanks.....A day in Epcot, back to the BW to change, then a nice walk to Yachtsman.....

My thoughts on Le Cellier - Folks staying in WDW hotels can book their ADR's at 90 days in advance for up to 10 days of their stay. So folks arriving up to 10 days before you have the opportunity to book the ADR. However, I thought that most restaurants did not release all tables for the + 10 booking. I would try calling 90 days from each day of your stay to see if more tables are released.
As far as Yachtsmen Steakhouse, we are very definitley in the minority on the DIS but we do not care for it. We have tried 3 times and will not return again.
It is a beautiful restaurant, with great service and a very nice atmosphere. We just did not care for the food. We found everything to be way to "sauced" and just not good.
As I said, most everybody here loves it, so it is just our taste.
It is an easy, pleasant walk from the BWV.
Have a Great Trip

Thats what I did...I called today, at 9am, to book Le Cellier for either the 13th, 14th, 15th or 16th...Lady said NOTHING available for all those days, lunch and dinner.....:confused3 Its too bad, we really wanted to try it there....Oh well, we have another 46yrs to try it :)

I think a better perk than 10% off at DD would be a better ADR system for DVC members....LIke ADR booking when you book your resort stay.....

Pretty cool....Responses are coming in from fellow MASS dvc'rs :cool1:

There are a bunch of us Massachusetts/Florida folks that are DVC'ers!

We prefer Yachtsman over LeCellier. It has been a couple of years since our last visit there, so I hope the quality of food and excellent service are still the same for your visit. Have a great trip!

My fiance does not like spicy....are the seasonings spicy? And, what would you recommend? How is the prime rib?

The Yachtsman restaurant is one of my favorites at WDW. It has been a couple of years since I have actually had dinner there, but I have never been disappointed. The last time I had the prime rib there it was excellent. As far as the spices on the food, do ask the server what seasonings are used on the various entres. For many of the grilled steaks, they may be able to prepare them without the spices if you request that.

As I said above it has been a couple of years since I have eaten at the Yachtsman, but my golfing buddies and I are looking forward to dining there in 10 days after a day on Osprey Ridge.

If you really want to try LeCellier (and since it's one TS credit on the dining plan whereas the Yachtsman is 2, it may be worth it), keep trying...dining reservations change even more frequently than housing accommodation reservations!

We tried for a LeCellier reservation when in late January we made our admittedly last-minute housing reservations for mid-March--between wait listing and frequent calling we wound up getting both our villa and our LeCellier reservations...what is sold out "today" may well be available tomorrow (or the next day or the day after that)...

It is, of course, a total pain to keep calling...not sure I wanted LeCellier badly enough to keep calling every day...but since I was calling anyway to get a villa that I did want badly enough to check on every day, I checked on LeCellier at the same time...

We got the 3/16 lunch reservations at LeCellier on 2/10...same day we got the last day of our five-day BCV one-bedroom reservation...

So...up to you whether it's worth the hassle to keep calling--but your chances are good if you don't mind the hassle...

And for what it's worth, we love both restaurants...but we tend to shy away from the two-credit TS places (because it's two credits!)...

I really like the Yachtsman and will make ADRs there for or Jan trip. It's an easy walk from the Beach Club side.

I prefer Yachtsman to Le Cellier, but I will say the best filet I ever had at a Disney restaurant was at Citricos!

I also prefer Yachtsman - esp how close it is to BW and BC! But it is a 2TS (and the menus at allears.net can help you too!) but well worth it imho - we've always made a ressie at LeCellier - and the menus have recently changed - and I'm not as impressed (no maple fillet, just the mushroom fillet, I cant eat mushrooms - I order w/o mushrooms and its just missing something - imho )

also at LeCellier - they tend to overbook I believe - or maybe more accurate is people take longer eating than the computed times to be - which means long wait times! Dont show up early for your adr time - you just wait longer - and you do have to check to make sure you are still in their system (twice we were 'lost' having to wait up to 45min beyond an adr time!)

Last time at LeCellier I looked around and they used to have a room on the left as you walk down that hallway from the front desk - I asked a CM and they said they never use that room :confused3 so it is a very small dining area - and a slow turnover of tables -

I'd stick with Yachtsman - on the restaurant thread the chef's girlfriend posts from time to time with updates - they do take requests and go out of their way to make your dining a truly 4* experience! (5* goes to Victoria and Albert's!! ;) )

I agree that you should keep trying, particularly as you get closer to your desired dates. We have called several times the day before or even first thing in the morning the day of and gotten reservations due to a recent cancellation. Of the 10 or so times we've tried that we have been successful about 50% of the time. It never hurts to keep trying.

We also prefer Yachtsman food and atmosphere wise but Le Cellier is easier on the wallet and has our favorite Disney beverage choice - the beers from Unibroue. We are doing both in April.

We are not worried about the $$$, just want good steaks and good atmosphere...We dont do the dining plan....

I have not read one bad thing on the rest forum about Yachtsman, so we are excited...I did read some bad Le Celier things......

We tried the Yachtsman last year for DHs birthday dinner. We were hugely disappointed. The service was horrible and as someone stated previously, everything was a little too "sauced." We had filet mignon. It was tender, but I had to send mine back to cook a little longer. (I had ordered medium well and it was still quite rare.) The sauce did not compliment the meat and I would have preferred it just to be seasoned properly. We had to practically tackle our waiter to get him to help us. We even joked about having our "cloak of invisibility" on. For the price point, I would rather go to III Forks or Ruth's Chris for dinner.
